Hi there..
i am just wondering .. i dont know if i put it right .. but after the progressice collapse of flying rhino (distribution problems or something?) as a label lots of music is comming from israel.. anyone can explain this ? can anyone with knowledge of the business aspects of this issue methodicaly explain?? i am not looking for answers from people with imagination.. i am looking for facts.. |

Domo used to distribute most psy in israel but as far as I know they stopped last year.

Flying Rhino was a UK label started in 1995. Unfortinently they had to close the label due to problems with their finances.

Yes, despite being owned by some extremely wealthy individuals (well, Barker and Monro anyway, maybe not Lamb). Not that that has much to do with it.
But what is it that the original poster is asking for an explanation about ? |

Mostly all psy material is *not* distributed by cosmophila. At least not exclusively. If you want to count all the non-exclusive stuff that distributors carry then you'd better include wirikuta. "Primary" distribution is extremely fragmented. Even among the major players you've got cosmophlia, wirikuta, arabesque, bne, phonokol, then there are smaller operators like montara, source direct, psyshop, trance-shop, and then there are lots of domestic distributors who only operate in their own territory, and there a lot of labels who self-distribute.
Psy distribution is quite fucked up actually. Just ask a few labels about it. I'm sure there are a few on here who will concur... ?

I have no idea what the thread maker is asking about, maybe why Israel is so huge and most psy seemed to come from them.. ?

Hi,
good acid music used to be easy to find back in the 90's and early 00's, you could just pick up any given goa/psy album/VA and you would be insured good trippers delight music, no matter taste. Today after many years of a lot of chemical vibed club psytrance (aka full-on lol) the psytrance has become, granted, extremly psychedelic with the likes of dark steamboat pumpin music and twisted forest athems. What I miss is the great acid lines of Flyhing Rhino. This label was unheard of by me for many years, I simply didn't know about the music, it's power and it's acid lines. I love this label and it's legancy.
What do you think?
