Can anyone help me figure out how to creat those great fluttering pad sounds used by a lot of Israeli artists like Psy Sex, Inf. Mush.etc? It sounds like a tremlo but more refined. Sorry, can't think of any other way to describe them! Hope you can help!

I think you should use Termolo or Gater automation to get cut effect and then use Pitch on couple of cutted parts you have created to get such effect .

Termolo / Gater automation will provide you wanted size , same you can achive by using highest snap or whatever it called in your host ( size of midi note)

Pitch should change tune of these cutted parts couple of times which will be nice to hear .

Also i advice you to use Reverb automation on high ends to create Infected Mushroom label FX .

P.S. use a lot of automation !

ok firstly for pads get your hands on ALBINO
its a pad vsti
and then make your pattern, save it to wave
, upload it back onto the track and then play around with it

this is what i do on cubase anyway, try it

search for a "midi gater" kvr-vst.com
allows you to control the slicing (or tremolo) by a midi track so you can create your own patterns. peace and light

Yes Albino is fine for all kinds of pads, but its a allround synth, you can use it for (allmost?) every sound.

I love to make bass with it.            Signature

Try to record a pad to audio and then slice it small pieces of the same size manually, put 1 piece playing and 1 in mute alternating, or any other sequence...

Tip: In Logic Audio, you can slice a piece in equal parts by using the scissors and pressing control at the same time

but if suck .. logic do that nice thing with scizor .. but ... u have one problem .. if u what each part of the pad with diferent sonority and efect .. u need to use lots and lots and lots of effect .EQ processro etc .... and then u need to use lots and lots and lots .. of bypass fo effects in and out ... and whatever .... in cubase is more simple to make this or even on new abelton live 4.0.1

but in logic u can do the same .. do what fluosamsara said .. then rek it again with the cuts .. then edit on soud forge u will see it bang it away

ehehe boom

I bumped into an old friend who gave me the best answer to my question on "fluttering pads"!:
Using Logic, create an Exs plug-in keeping the setting on the pre-set "bleep". Create a pattern on the matrix editor and change the output to "no output". Send this audio instrument to a free bus. This free bus must also be switched to "no output"
Create a pad or other sound on another audio instrument and add a noise gate. On this noise gate turn the "side chain" to the bus that you sent the Exs pattern to. When the Exs pattern and the pad sound are played together, the effect will be the pad being gated by the pattern on the Exs. You can play around with the settings on the noise gate to get the perfect "fluttering pad"!
I hope this is clear and will help anyone who didn't know about "side chaining" before.
