fluttering bass with Live 7?

So I'm putting together a set of my tracks with Live. Everything is warped fine and the global tempo is 146. All other tracks and mixes sound great except for one. It's 145 and the warp points are spot on. For some reason, I'm getting a fluttering sound on my bass, and my kick sometimes sounds as if it's being affected by phasing, even when solo'd. What could the problem be?

The track was written in Cubase, and has a 16 bar section that was applied with a pitch envelope, speeding it up and slowing down the tempo to about 50bpm. I've not warped these beats in Live, but section off the period before it and after (double clicking the warp markers)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Try using a different warp mode - are you using Complex at the moment? If so, try Beats, set to 16ths. Warping will always affect the sound in some way.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Thanks Colin, I was using Beats at 16ths originally. I'm trying Re-Pitch now and it seems like its doing a better job.

This raises a question...
When Djs make a set, and beatmacth all tracks, is the whole Dj set in just one tempo or do they sneak back to the original tempo and some point....

also the same for an artist putting togeter a set... is this set all in just one tempo? This thing with beatmacthing got me thinking about this... of course i understand that tracks has to be picked to be somewhat in close range tempo, but sometimes you want to play some track that has another tempo, how do you beatmacth this... i guess you dont...

For a 2 hour DJ set, I'll often start at 146 and move up to 148. All it takes is pitching a track up a bit during a beatless part where it's not so noticeable and mixing in at that tempo.

I know some producers who just play their tracks in their tempo order without beat matching.

beatmatching tracks that arent too far away bpmwise is pretty easy. but mixing a 135 track with 145 is indeed tricky. Sometimes it still sounds ok. but most of the time it just sounds crap. So it might be best to fade out/ fade in the ambient parts (if they are there) if you want to mix those different bpms.
