Maps and Diagrams - Cubiculo
Taking some time out from making music with Charles Sage as Hessien, Tim Martin brings his Maps and Diagrams project to the surface with four exclusive songs for Fluid Audio.
'Cubiculo' features a more structured, loop-based arrangement, drawing attention to a rounded and melodic stencil with focus on subtle, micro-crystalised rhythm, surrounded by a self-assurance and tangled textures with a salute towards the work of Oval and their deconstructed works of the 90's.
'Cubiculo' creates a less-harsh listening environment compared to 'The Giant Woods' album on Yuki Yaki released in December 2009 and this is another steadfast release carefully crafted, interwoven with unfolding elements that makes Maps and Diagrams' compositions so precisely enduring.
Available for free download from http://fluid-digital.co.uk/ in your choice of 320k mp3, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.
Track List:
The Melancholy of the Weavers
Kopangyang
Gnomish Twang
Fragments of a Former Moon
All songs written and produced by Maps and Diagrams 2009/10.
Recorded at Roadmap Studios, Cambridgeshire.

Also worth checking out the Hessien project that Tim is involved in here:
http://www.fluid-radio.co.uk/2010/01/hessien-freebies/
There is also a bunch of free tracks you can grab from one of the links on that post!
Our next release will be from Hessien and will be a split release containing four tracks from Hessien and four remixes from some top notch artists. More info coming soon. |

^ thanks Dan! I'll definitely be checking out the Skurjn release once it's available digitally.
Unfortunately the Hessien freebies are all mp3 so they didn't excite me.
I'll be eagerly awaiting the next Fluid release tho. I like the current pattern of one to pay for and then a free one. |

^ Great news! and great music too. Love it!
I noticed the "After much demand for these songs to be released in flac/lossless formats they have been remastered and now appear at Bandcamp for easy, accessible downloading."...
...at least there was what sounds like popular demand for lossless, and not just me! |

The thought of a world where lossless formats are in popular demand makes me feel all fuzzy and warm inside.
Now we could talk about that impossible parallel universe where Apple supports FLAC, but that would just be crazy talk.
@Dan: Thank you for making this available! |
