This is next on my list. And then I think I'm going to stop buying music for a while and sit on what i've got and get to know it better.
It's been a busy first half of the year, with many quality releases. Unfortunately the bank balance needs to grow again...
But I gotta have this first... |

Damn that Field rotation track is some crazy stuff.

Yes a great track..
Watch out for a remix of it on the upcoming Nova compilation on Ultimae Records.
Also Fluid Audio 002 will be by Field Rotation entitled 'Licht und Schatten'.
It will be available as a four track digital download and also a limited edition seven track cd with some insane packaging.
A sneak preview of the 7 tracks can be heard on Fluid radio tomorrow evening (Wednesday 17th) at 7pm.
More details coming soon.
Also you can now download a free remixed ep of Parallelwelten for free here http://fieldrotation.bandcamp.com/

I forgot to tell that it was a beautiful experience to master these stunning tracks. Daniel made a delicate selection, finding the links between ambient-shoogaze-electronica and other emotional moods. I wish people will support this project!
About Fields Rotation, yes, this guy is simply a sonic revelation. To follow... : ) |

I read that Christoph Berg is also a violinist, so I assume that it's him playing the violin on "Regenzeit" ?

It's a violoncello on Regenzeit first version.
The remix version coming out on Ultimae has lots more of a stringed modern classical feel with Christoph using violin for background sounds

Got my copy today
A complete breath of fresh air both in musical and artistic terms.
I got that sweet smell as well when opening the parcel and was immidiately struck by the beautiful package design. It was almost a shame to break the seal
The tracks are wonderful and yes Vince you have done a superb job with the mastering!
Only having listened once I am hooked already and can see this having heavy rotation over the coming weeks |

Well,in my CD collection I have a few albums that contain cello playing, mostly in the Jazz department,so over the years I heard all kinds of beautiful and special sounds that can come out of the cello in all kinds of styles.
Now,I really want to know how Christoph is making that sound on "Regenzeit",you can also hear it in "Mondfinsternis" also in his myspace page.
he make it sounds almost like some sort of a wind instrument in some parts,so I wonder what kind of effects he use for that ? |

First of all: thanks for your kind words above...
Letting string instruments sound like wind instrument is a special way of playing it - not pressing the fingers down to the fingerboard but just touching the string softly (some way of natural overtone filter).

that's interesting.
I assumed that it is some sort of playing technique or an effect.
thanks for the info.
you have a really beautiful style of electroacoustic, ambient downtempo.
as I said earlier,I'm looking forward to hear the 'Licht und Schatten' release on fluid audio.
by the way,on what record label is your debut album going to be released ? |
