hey jus wanted to noe..... usually when i decode a flac to wav i set the encoder options settings to
Format - PCM Uncompressed
Attributes : 44100Hz 16 bit stereo!!

however is it a good idea to try and set it
at 44100Hz 24 bit stereo? or
at 44100Hz 32 bit stereo?

what are the usual encoder settings ull follow while converting a flac to wave?

cheers!!

You can set it to 24 bits if you are playing from a computer. But if you want to burn it to cd it has to be 16 bit. I wouldnt make alot of difference though to change it to 24bit, just takes up more space.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

Depends on the quality of the wav that was before it got converted to flac. If the wav was 16 bit, even if you convert it to 24 or 32 bit the quality won't be better, only the filesize will be bigger.           Triplag Music

_yes bigger file because of more data information

8bit more data is missing from the 24bit file. this is a lot in digital signal processing world....

you should everytime use the highest rate you have. if you can save it with 32bit float then do it. compression everytime means loosing of data..

the more information your track/sample has that better will be the sounding of it. just test it.

use a 192kbps mp3 file and play this on good boxes up to 130 db fs. this sounds very glassy & muddy, because of missing data.

use your digital tools as good as you can.

every time you compress / uncompress you lose quality
keeping everything in wav is the go
hard drive space is cheap / internet speeds are great in the 21st century , i dont see the point in compressing anything these days           www.harmlessprankster.bandcamp.com

flac is lossless compression and used for distributing files on the internet, while keeping the original sound quality

if you are going to do any processing to the tracks/files or DJ from a computer I would use 24-bit or 32-bit           Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!

probably you have the FLAC in 16bit so it wont really matter to make it 24bit... save that hd space for porn.
also if you want it on cd it must be 16bit.

and the daleks is right , FLAC does NOT lose anything , but you either have to install codec to play it or to uncompress it to wav.           www.sattelbattle.com
