I would like to hear how ppl using fl7 do set up their arrangements. Do you use automationclips, audioclips, midiclips or non of the mentioned? Im asking this cause i want to know how to get the easiest workflow possible. I really cant deside if i should automate, when working with midi, in the pianoroll or in the playlist(as midi-clips)? Same thing goes with audioclips. Should i just use them in the playlist or as audioclips(in the playlist)? I would apreciate someone could help me out and find a decent, less confusing solution.. Some screenshots might be a great help too

Just put them together in the way u can work the best.

I use mainly pianroll for automation, but sometimes the clips. U can use both and everything.

For example if i rendered some fx from a synth and know that i don't need further manipulation beside effects, i use audio clip. If i want to lfo the pitch i use a sampler and the playlist.

So using both, works fine for me.

Hope i this helps a bit - just put it together.            Signature

If u like i make a scr. shoot, but projects won't fit to one screen coz they mostly have too much patterns for one pci.            Signature

Thnx EYB! Actually i think im doing it almost the same way as you I find it more easy to make automation in the pianoroll most of the time, so maybe i should just keep it that way! Though i still use automation clips when making f.e. a steep curve on cutoff freq filter, but find it too cluttered for making "alive" automations (too many dots n different curves) Still im confused about the audioclip thingie. I dont like that the samples automaticly timestretches when pulling em. It would be kewl if you could just shorten the samples without doing that like in ableton live. Is that possible? Examples on arrangement setups from other users are still welcome

I do mine like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v638/DarkShijvar/playlist.jpg

I find it alot easier to do it like this because u can edit one block at a time.

I use a bit of edit events automation, as well as automation clips, whatevers easiest at the time...
