I am a user of both but really need to choose one and im having issues with Logic's workflow. For examples, to change the pitch of a sound in Logic you have to do this whole Time and Pitch machine thing..in Fl Studio its just one know. Regions in Fl Studio could be stretched without going into Flex Mode..all u did was just stretch. However, there are some things in Logic that you cant beat like the sick plug-ins and the crazy editing capabilities and video stuff.Idk.It just seems weird that Logic would have to be so complicated with the pitch and stuff.Logic User.....a couple of questions

1. what do u do to change pitch of audio samples and stuff?

2.what is your fav method of stretching stuff

3.do you like the piano roll

give me some tips cuz i love fl studio but i love Logic and only want one computer(i have fl bootcamped on my Macbook but i only want one DAW.)
Peace.great day.           www.soundcloud.com/kabbalisticvillage

For simple pitchshifts i use the built in AUPitch-thingie, its there under the "apple au"-folder, or whatever its called (im not at home so cant double check heh). Then i just go to automation, choose the AUpitch, look for the one called "pitch" and just automate
I havent really gotten my head around the time and pitch maschine thing so cant really comment on that, i always seem to get "choppy" samples when i use that :/

And yeah i like the pianoroll, even if i too got kinda used to the one in flstudio, dont miss the "hyper editor" window
Anyways i crossed over from flstudio to logic, and once i started getting used to the new workflow i started liking logic more and more, so gl hf

1. Transposition
2. Don't stretch anything, but opt+drag I would do
3. Yes very much

Everything is shortcut away from you, assign to your own liking, if it's really big deal or matter of workflow all that pitching and stretching, then you know the answer....use FL

I watched tutorial before I make any sound in Logic, than I started with everything, assigned my shortcuts and that's it, like a new girlfriend, she like the same old sex with new kinky stuff or some things is just little harder to get

If all you have problems is stretch, there are external plugins that can do that easily as flstudio sampler (yea,I also love the stretching and pitch shifting in flstudio,it is so easy and makes weird and awesome sounds in a second. But if you look for quality stretching,I am not sure flstudio has the best algorythms ).

From all the things I lost, that sandwitch cost me most :)

1. if it has to be exactly pitched i'd load it into exs24 or ultrabeat

2. flex mode. it's very fast and easy, just press F and stretch.
actually flex mode is a godsend here. before, audio editing was quite clumsy in logic.

3. yes, it's very nice. but i don't know how much my opinion counts here, i've always used logic. it does everything i want it to do and is easy to use. the only 2 bad things i noticed are the non-lining up of notes you mention (if that happens i usually quantize (i.e. press Q) to clean it up). what bugs me more is that when selecting lots of notes in the piano roll, it sometimes misses some.

Thanks.
Pom - istarted using division mode and its much better.

Eitherway, i changed the color in my piano roll background and now things are easier.Fl was easy for me cuz everything was patterns and u made ur stuff in patterns and im just getting used to Logic. i really do love it and all the loops and editing capabilities..
i still dont know about time and pitch machine and things like that though.           www.soundcloud.com/kabbalisticvillage

You don't need to use pitch machine, just use the onboard pitch shift plug in. that is what I do and it works just fine.
As for Logic generally, I love everything about it, but I must say that I have been using it from version 4.xx

have you find out for stretching? like Xsze mentioned you can drag audio by placing the mouse cursor on the lower right corner of a clip and then drag with alt key.

Pom - i knew that but it doesnt let you drag all the way..it stops at a certain point....does that happen to everybody.
I think Logic is making me a better prodcuer for real though.i do miss Fl but i like my mac and the look of Logic and the fact that i can edit each region differently when in Fl u have to "make it unique"           www.soundcloud.com/kabbalisticvillage
