I have been working on FL Studio 9 for some time now, until recently a friend gave me a demo of ableton live 8.0.4
I have heard a lot of people have their opinion about FL Studio being too amateur etc etc...but now my main question:
1) Is FL Studio really that inefficient..?
2) I am completely inexperienced with Ableton Live and also certain sound jargon...so is there any tutorial(preferably video) that can tach me how to go about Ableton 8.0.4..?
Thanks in advance..!
Big boom..!
No... no more scientists, no more laboratories, no more experiments, I thought you`d be able to understand that. No more! |

oh my... here we go again.
What Tricossoma says + every DAW has its own advantages. There are certain possibilities in FL concerning speed and workflow which suit me and are better than ableton. But the same story for ableton! Ableton is way better in certain stuff (live playing indeed but also production).
If I'd start again with producing, my guess would be I'dd start with ableton. It's more straightforward imo.

Firstly,
Thank you all for the prompt replies
I may be asking the same questions over again here, my apologies..
1) Any tutorials specifically for psy production (workflow) using FL Studio..?
2) I really like the fact that Ableton has a massive effects library, and most of them have beautiful presets, which means an amateur has to concentrate less on getting the effects and it can make workflow amazingly simple, once one knows the DAW well that is..i wouuld like to shift to ableton soon, because of this reason.

for me fl is the best seq to get from a kick to a full track in the less time.. although the results to that can be also either great or the worse..
fl has the best piano roll and automation out there..
it also has the worse external gear and audio recording handling...

i liked FL for simple music, but it's very easy to get complex noise out of it.
i just use ableton for everything cause i know it pretty well.
long as your sound is good, no one cares. |
