I am somewhat fond of both ableton and cubase. I prefer cubase overall, however I can't get anything above version 2 stable. Stupid dongle. I don't make money on my music and needless to say I don't spend much on it especially in software. Are there a lot of advances in cubase 5 that I'd miss out on if I were to use cubase 2? Additionally, how many of you use FLStudio to do your full production?           http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

Hmm, it makes me wonder how well these people know FLStudio. If anything I'd think it'd score high in the midi category butits the opposite it scores high in the audio category. Perhaps I've just used FL too much myself and know it inside and out. cubase is cool i just have stability issues with the dongle.

atleast i think its the dongle. whenever i add a kontakt 8 out version it freezes my cubase.

edit: when i add any kontakt session. it freezes cubase 5. hooray.

edit: just updated to latest version and dongle version and still freezes on loading kontakt.          http://www.youtube.com/user/trawhi (tutorials)

I think that link has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Ex. Why is Live scoring so low in the MIDI section, when most of the other reviews I've read, combined with my experiences with Live and several of the other DAW's, results in the complete opposite

i can tell you, i consider myself somewhat of a FL guru.
the midi capability of FL is almost the best. for me, much better than abletons midi capability. ableton has better audio capability.

they say cubase has the best of both worlds. midi and audio.

I would address this link with caution...           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Then I think it is a Kontakt problem.. Not necesarilly cubase.. Did you check both the Kontakt and the cubase fora for more info?           soundcloud.com/supergroover

FLStudio really do not have a Automatic Latency Compensation?

I saw that there is a way to route it manually, but that seems to be complicated since when trying out things you have to reroute all the time so that your gonna get a "router" haha I know that joke is flat but hey ..hah           http://facebook.com/ansolas

it will have APDC in the next update along with a new convolution reverb and a new bigger ( larger in size ) mixer.

also the fl10 will remove he pattern view with the standart clip view ( cubase, logic etc ) make it more universal friendly although many dont like that.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

I think you just have to use the program that fits your needs and workflow.
For me thats FLstudio, I do everything with it and use it with hardware too,I think it works good for midi and audio recording because I never had problems so far.

You could choose the view you wanted before..
but they could totally remove that pattern view in my eyes..

I use FLstudio and lovin' it.
