FL Studio 8 freezes in specific moments

Hi everybody! I have a huge problem with studio FL 8. Every time if a window with a question or an announcement pops up (i don't know what because it doesn't load the window correctly)the programme completely freezes, so that I must finish the process in the task manager. I use Windows XP. Suddenly I cannot open my actual project. Is there anybody out there, who can help me please?

Can you check somewhere what the process is that starts? Do you recognize all processes in your taskmanager? Is a computer update? Firewall that puts up a message? Maybe there is a way to prioritize your FL 8..

Hi supergroover, thank you for the fast answer. I will try to turn off the firewall! I tried to prioritize FL on the highest level but still the same problem. I chanched the ASIO driver and i can open my project again! I use the ASIO Full Duplex driver because the ASIO 4 all dowsn't work on my notebook.
