get the new beta from your account and test the new features.
Playlist track options. Track naming, colouring, muting, moving etc.
Real Sidechaining. Uses the current routing buttons. Fruity Limiter has a sidechain input.
Audio Clip Declicking modes, usefull for slip editing.
Note and pattern grouping. Plus group option in the piano roll arp, chop and flam tools.
Note and pattern muting.
Optional project folder for recorded or dragged audio, saveable per project.
Recent Files browser folder.
'Group' folder view option in browser, makes more sense than alphabetical.
The last auto scroll state is now remembered when you open FL.
Mixer and effect multithreading.
Global Smart Disable switch.
New look for effect plugins with no GUI (Fruity Compressor etc).
Riff Maker in the Piano Roll, geneates musical scores. (Still under development as far as I know).
Colour picker has usefull colour options that fit the UI.
Edison can be maximized quickly.
Nice new clip view when zoomed out by a certain amount.
Multiple MIDI note input, depending on MIDI channel.
'Claw machine' piano roll tool which can trippletize and rearrange patterns, with a Time distortion knob to create gradual speed changes for notes.
99 insert mixer tracks.
Option to drag an effect and copy it to another mixer track or to the browser.
New 'Tools->Last tweaked->Override volatile link...' to set up a hardware MIDI knob that always controls the last software knob you tweaked with the mouse.
Snap to 'Events' mode, which snaps notes or patterns to the positions of other notes or patterns above or below them. Works with ghost notes.
Right-clicking the 'enable effect slots' mixer buttons now shows or hides editors of all plugins for that track.
Edison denoiser, and preview.
Gross Beat has a 'Click reduction' setting.
Sytrus has an alternative Unison setting. Gol originally tweaked the unison values to avoid beating, but some prefer the beating for certain patches to the flanging effect that can result.
Phase knob in Stereo Shaper is a cool stereo enhancement option. Sort of a gradual phase inversion.
'Make Unique' for Automation Clips now preserves the link.

Looking good...
"New 'Tools->Last tweaked->Override volatile link...' to set up a hardware MIDI knob that always controls the last software knob you tweaked with the mouse."
Sounds almost too good to be true....

I have a question about 8.5. I want to route a midi (out) channel to a second output/channel in Omnispehere (or any other vsti with multiple channels). Setting the port to 0 in both midi output and the vsti used to do the trick. But now there's this "wrapping settings" menu (which will be better once I get this to work) where you can set midi input mort and output port. When I set it (both or just the input) on 0 or 1 and I set the midi output channel to the same value as the vsti, it doesn't work. I can't get to control a vsti through a midi out channel anymore.
