My next question is. If FL5 has 32bit float render than why i can't use 24bit samples inside of it?

What do u mean? I can use 24bit samples.

lol, sorry. Would never base an opinion on what people say without check myself. It's supports 24bit samples. |

O.k...I see you understand these numbers more
than I do, so tell me:
What is the 32bit float (0.24) and what is
32bit float (16.8)?
p.s
I don't export in FL at all...
My FL is rewired to my cubase so I am used to
export in 24bit!

What is the 32bit float (0.24)
|

This means that the float is normalized between -1.0 and 1.0. It means that all the bits represent the decimal portion of the value. This is the standard, and what VST uses.

This means that the output is treated more as a fixed point number: 16 bits of whole number and 8 bits of decimal. |

hey guys!!!
i have a track made in fruity loops (version 4.5)...
i was thinking that maybe i should try mixing in cubase... how does this rewiring work?
is this useful at all?
will the sound get better when i use cubase as mixer and fruity as sequencer...?
if the sound doesn't get better - no use. |

uhhhnmmmmm i might com-out dumb on this
but as far as i've learned the bit-depth 8/16/24/32 only defines the DYNAMIC RANGE , meaning how many diffrent amplitude values are possible at every sample.
16bit got 65,536
24bit got 16,777,216
whereas sample-rate is much much more imortant since it defines the real accuracy of sound-reproduction, defines how many "dots" create the sound every sec...
so...theoreticly a 16bit 96khz sample is much preffered to even 128bit 22khz...
now....we're all talking bout trance music, which is VERY LOUD 95% of the time...so why argue bout dynamic range ? .
ofcourse, 24bit samples are more likely to be better quality since they were recorded under the most strict conditions, but this doesn't make 16bit bad..

Digital Audio is measured in two ways: Bit Rate Resolution and Sample Rate.
Sample Rate is the number of samples per second taken of the audio. 1Hz = 1 sample per second. RedBook CD (RBCD) is 44.1kHz = 44,100 samples per second.
Bit Rate Resolution is the digital word length of each sample. This determines how precise each sample is. Think of it this way. You can explain last night's concert more precise using 100 words rather than using 20 words. RBCD bit rate resolution is 16bit which gives a 65,535 word length. If a certain sample takes more than 65,535 words to describe than the sample will lose some information which results in distortion. The precision difference with bit rate is noticeable when you realize that most internet audio streams are at 8bit and digital telephones are at 4bit. Background noise is associated with lower bit rates.
So......If one second of audio is analogous to the view of your backyard, the RBCD digital representation of your backyard would be akin to looking at it through a screen door with 44,100 holes in the screen and 65,535 words or colors within each screen hole.

Hmmm...Phu...probably not, but I know a friend who does tunes in FL, but when it comes to the final mix, he does that in Cubase... |

Sorry phutekk.
In order to use rewire. You should register FL Producer with rewire (in older version of Cubase or Fruity to register Fruity inside Cubase).
Load both sequencers, first one Cubase, open midi channel, assign In or Out for any of Fruity Loops channel (depending on what you want to do, In its record sequence directly from Cubase and Out to use FL producer samples to sequence in Cubase). |
