Fitalic is Robin Fitter, from Netherlands. The Dutch DJ and producer has been several times in the spotlights with his legendary releases on Bedrock, Vapour, Sprout , Iboga and of course Tribal Vision Records.
After a huge success of his debut "Atomic Atmosphere", one of the quickest sellers in the label's history, this is another milestone not to be missed by any fan of progressive grooves. Get your original cd with the magnificent artwork by Quapim at Psyshop one month ahead of the digital release.

Through the tracks:

01 :: Vertigo
Starts off with some spread kicks which just blend in to the Hi Hats, as the baseline just starts to grow a bit, getting higher, and the kicks starts to pump, Hi Hats get even higher. Melody enters, followed by an outstanding baseline and a superb drive. Here we are to what I’ve loved for the past 5 years: Progressive House on its best. A smooth break with just the effects and the percussion. What an incredible atmosphere this one has. Fucking amazing starting track.

02 :: Far East
Deep intro, with some melodies that reminded me some older Son Kite stuff, for instance the intro to “Colours” album. Could it be bad? No way. This one is a bit slower then usual, just kicking in and showing some effects at the start. Typical Progressive track. Melodic and groovy, with an awesome vocal on the break. Nice one.

03 :: Electrix
Hi Hats and alternated kicks to make space to the baseline entrance. It starts low, and gets room on it as the melodies and the effects start to kick in. This guy likes big intros, which I think it’s a great thing to any Progressive track. A smooth House melody with an amazing atmosphere.

04 :: Light View
Amazing start. You begin to wonder what will come next. Some Electro influenced sounds, or just the same gold Progressive? An amazing spread Hi Hat, with some nice effects and killer high kick. The baseline just swoops in, gently, and keeps knocking for some time, to get a break. Then it starts to distort, and comes back in WOW!!! What a comeback. Progressive House on its best way. Groovy, uplifting, melodic in some parts, but always keeping the wonderful atmosphere. This is also a dance-floor track. The Hi Hats are beautiful and so are the breaks. Outstanding one. This is my favorite type of music. Best one so far imo.

05 :: Behind This
Break beats intro, just raising some effects while the Hi Hats enter in lots of style. This one’s baseline is exactly my cup of tea. Very distorted and uplifting, with a nice melody beside, and they all create an incredible atmosphere together. Very deep and emotional melodies, just driving you to the break. He really knows how to use breaks, without making you get cold. More catchy melodies, which also created a good atmosphere for home listening. I can imagine what it would do on a full dance-floor.

06 :: Shanghay Road
This one starts with a more Techy kick. Same thing goes for the spread Hi Hats which follow the kick until the baseline enters. But as the track develops, you can see it becoming a Progressive House track. The melodies are great and with an uplifting drive. Nice track also.

07 :: Byala Beach
Now this is what I’m talking about. Progressive start that makes you imagine the fun that’s about to come. Just the Hi Hats and the kicks for intro, with some effects aside. Then the effects get higher and the baseline enters amazingly, followed by an outstanding kick. A break to give you some time to breath and just listen to the melody. Grooving high and with an incredible atmosphere, this is a true Progressive House track with a perfect development. Amazing.

08 :: Thousand Worlds
Starting off with a Tribal percussion and some Hi Hats. Then the melodies kick in, and the flow starts. A nice deep and long intro, with some effects followed by a break, just keeping the melodie. This is kind of a Break Beat Progressive, very groovy and melodic, with some nice vocals on it. Deep brakes to take you on a journey. Very groovy and tripping track.

09 :: Dynamical Dust
Starts with some percussion and a some clap kicks, as the Hi Hats begin to appear, the melody gently raises with some distorted effects, giving space to a break. Then the baseline, a very characteristic one, with hi-low frequencies enters. A smooth break which the melodies reminded me some chill tracks. Perhaps he’s trying to slow things a bit. Beautiful track.

10 :: Wet Simetry
Track starts with a nice wide kick, in Prog House style. The Hi Hats enter to make the flow and they speed up on the 1st minute. A Prog House atmosphere starting to gain volume. A nice break with an awesome female vocal leading to a trip when the melody starts. You can feel the Housy atmosphere, and the Proggy beats and melodies. A nice end to a perfect Progressive ride.

Bottom Line:

Well, I couldn’t expect less from an artist such as Fitalic’s, with 4 albums already released, each one better than the last. I think he really wanted to make a Progressive House album. And he did perfectly. Catchy atmospheres and uplifting sounds, just driving you to dance, or to kick your feet on the floor while listening at home.

For all the Progressive lovers: Get it
For all the Prog House lovers: FUCKING GET IT!! Don’t waste another minute waiting to check samples and whatever.
This is a true Progressive House trip, at it’s best, like I’ve said before.

Favorites: 1 (!!), 4(!!), 6, 7 and 10(!!).

Another nice one from Robin and Tribal Vision.

Huge respect to both.

For a long time we've been comming accross with the releases of progressive trance project Fitalic and we never get a chance to get dissapointed even once by their singles or albums.Sophisticated way of telling over sound is something we got used to by this project.
Newly composed album which came out for lately prestigeous label „Tribal Vision“, which is carefully choosing projects which is releasing, brings us new wave of progressive sound folded into the form of disco rythm. More danceable and groovy album made from standard number of tracks, at the moments, takes us back into the past when on the dance floors ruled fat disco snare. Energetic inducement which is given to the rythm of every second kick isnt left out this time either. Although this is a standard and used way of amplifying rythm and making strong grooves, Robin doesnt leave it out this time either, as one of most faithful elements of electronic music. Inducement to all that give irrepalacable shakers which create so called train effect and fill in every crack. Melodicity of tracks is still progressive but in this case more like house leads but still in trance atmosphere. What i like most is the fact that it wasnt tend to use filtration of breaks.
What became today more frequent mean of production. As far as i'm concerned, when that trick is overused in some track or album, i feel like an artist didnt have an idea of what to do with those parts. Its best to leave those parts in some classical break style than to force it at any cost.
I get the impression in this album that Robin and i have same opinions about these elements and there goes one more plus in the line of pluses for this release. Every track is the mass of combinations of different styles in which the carrying style of this project leads. I've always been for some mild mixes in electronic music so i feel this mix that way. Someone might say that its hard thing to do and i would agree, but the question is how hard or easy is it to get this. I havent noticed that every attempt ends with a success as it does in this release. The simpicity of rhythm is a main reason here why the attention is not payed to the rest song elements.
Concerning that today minimal rules electronic scene, as a mainstreem, it is frequent that everything is based on the rythm and the rest of important things go into the background. And in the case of them not payed attention to, those elements truly resemble of each other and not just on the album of one artistm but it happens a lot that more different tracks of different artists can have similar content. The plus that im giving in this case is the variety and not recycling the elements from track to track. If there is a copy of some elements, the artist discretly puts it in the background. During my listening of this album i found out that the artist made some parts that are similar to euro charcteristics and what made me most delighted is the combination of techno rythm and trance basslines. That is, after all, something i like most. I can't left out any moments that were filled by raw 909 hats, at least they sound like that to me, and that is that suits me most in this music. Also the fat basslines such as pads and old school rave melodies . The rythm is today's but the thematics brings back into happy times.
You cant even stay indifferent with that combination. At least i didnt. To sum up, the complete impressum of the album and the fact that i visually danced on big events over beaches and fields (chicane style track near the end of the album) and till the walls of my room i noticed that its about one little progressive style trip in different shapes. What i would at first want to hear is this release among mass of people which would make me enjoy my favorit track 8, only for myself.
