Hi Guys!
Ive been reading this forum some months ago... really good content and members...
I decided to play around with e-music creation... just using software synths and other stuffs.
Some weeks working with a track and got this: http://www.kehl.ind.br/balla/FreakBugS_-_Voice_Bug.mp3 (128kbps just to preview)
ps: I new in this world, I dont have any knowledge with music creation... I dont have any good monitors... just playing with live and some good VSTs.
Could u guys help me with EQ, some other good drum VST (im using now CronoX for hihats, cymbals, etc)... ??
I dont know how to EQ this track... and, yes, I know, there arent nothing on freq higher than 5k...
I hope I get some help...
=) cya

wassup freakbugs... for drums i suggest u get samples...
and just drop em in simpler.... but if u looken for an vst u might wanna chek out stylus rmx... and for kicks i like Bazzism hehe really cheap but cool as hell.. plus u can chek some of the linn plugs i forgot the name right now...
feedback on track not bad at all for ur first track keep up the good work u had there some melody that reminded me of the eighty's hehe
as far eq is concern its all up to u really what ever u want u sound to be and depending on the other instruments since by now u should know that if u change one track u might have to change others just play around with it and try the mix in as many different speakers and settings as u can...
also chek ur mix in mono...
hope my words helped out holla

Best advice for beginners... Import a finished track into your sequencer... any old track, preferably one in a similar style you wish to make.
Then put a paramtric EQ on the master channel and start fiddling around just to get farmiliar with where the different frequency ranges are and what they sound like.
Just cut or boost a frequency and sweep it up and down the mix.
That's training your ear lesson 1
Once you are farmiliar with where everything is you'll be much more confident about what to do and when you have to do it.
EQ is number one important, especially when it comes to bass.
Don't get to eager to rush out and get all the tools to quickly also. So many beginners rush into getting all the kit thinking it's going to be their saviour. You'd be surprised of the results you can get out of all the most minimal equipment once you know how. Collecting software is just putting off the whole fun part where you really get stuck in.
All you need is your mind... and just a little something to smear it onto
Judging by the track... you're off to a better start than most! |

hello.
well first off, i dont see why you are cutting all frequencies above 5khz. some air can be quite good for the percussions, even for a buildup pad or something.
for drums i use samples, and i use fruity's sampler to fiddle around with them.
and i think that one of the most important things u should know about EQ'ing is about getting the bass frequencies right.
too much and u get the sub taking over the song, too little and you would get a click of a kick.
just play around with it, check out all of the options, and try stuff out for yourself.
thats the best way of learning, tweaking ALL knobs, all sliders, all everything, tweak everything that isnt digitally nailed to the ground

nice track and bassline sound
i have to work with hihats too
i just know the basic pattern of:
K---K---K---K---
C C C C
OoooOoooOoooOooo
Where the O is the 100% velocity and the others o are 70% velocity, K is the kick and C the closed hihat..
i know there are many threads about this but i cant understand it can someone give me a little help with a graphic like this or other about other patterns ? hehe maybe its a little offtopic but it is about hihats...

Feeling is a nice track.
its a bit repetitive though, but its very nice!
i would just boost a bit the bass frequencies, i can hardly feel them.
you might wanna use different fx's instead of repeating the HP filter over and over (though it sounds good, but overusing it can make it go Blah)
anywayz, i liked it, but you can try to add a bit more variation instead of repeating the same things over and over.
