hello,
I want to buy myself a music software, but I'm not sure which one to pick.

I have a Mac at home and think about Ableton and Logic?

What would you say?

Or it does not really matter, and a matter of taste, as many say?

I thank you for your answers

PS: Sorry mei english isnīt the best^^

Yes, it's just personal preference.
all are capable..

Try a few of them.

If i had mac i would go for logic. I like the layout and it has very good instruments and effects on board.
It's also hella cheap.

Download a few different DAWs and try them. Or ask friends what they use and try it for yourself at their studio. See what you like and buy it then.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

It's personal really, you just need to find that special something and get the best out of it,
but you are asking for opinions, so there is great community around Ableton and it's one of the most popular ones around, on other hand Logic is cheaper and it comes with good instruments, effects and gigabytes of material just like Live, workflow is different on both, I personally prefer Logic, fits my workflow and needs.

Try demoing Live and seek for some Logic videos on You Tube, I think that first impression is important, just the way how you go about starting a project and making your way out, what feels more intuitive to you go with that, but for the current price of full Logic and full Live, it's really bargain to get Logic even if you gonna ditch him in a year, it cost like plugin

I'd suggest to try both demos too. You only can convince yourself by playing with them. Personaly I like both and could not say which one is better. Probably Logic got more to offer in regards of environment and instruments and such things, but Ableton has a very user friendly workflow imo and can get as complex as nothing else too. There is no numero uno (atleast not when leaving recordings out), only subjective favourites - each is different though.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

Where do you live Psybob94? Maybe you can find people through this forum. Or through a local music forum? I am sure there are producers in your area that would love to show you around their DAW of choice.           soundcloud.com/supergroover
