i just got the firewire audiophile for my laptop which is hp pavilion 2.8 ghz 500 ram
but the things keeps getting me trouble.. i thought that firewire should run smoother, but the audio in cubase keeps going off so i have to resset it almost every 5 or 10 minutes, even traktor gives me te same trouble. it drives me insane, even my old audigy soundcard performed better in my old athlon 1 ghz, whats happening... plz help. can the problem be in the drivers, windows configuration/incompatibility (im using xp home) , or the firewire port which is 4 pin, not 6 pin as the sound card..
thanx for help..

Well I was thinking of going with the firewire option but when I have steped to this http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/39001/forum/2 I think I have changed my mind...

Im not saying that all firewire users are facing problems but since its something new, I think I better wait for the time to show...

A friend of mine had the same probs with the m-audio card but another friend of mine uses the motu firewire and works just fine... What to say...?           • Noize Conspiracy Records •

One of my friend's had the same issue, and it turned out to be a driver issue. I will ask him exactly what he needed to do to make it work properly, and get back to you on it. I have a firewire 4/10 but I haven't had any issues like that yet...           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

hi.. i bought this card cause its supposed to be for mobile use (i would have bought pci for dektop).. it is advertiseed by maudio for use with laptops. at first i had some problems with audio , then i installed new drivers and it worked better so did with service pack 1 for windows.. but still the audio breaks down once in a while, so i have to restart the device.so i think it may be some driver issue., or maybe the guys at maudio are a bunch of lierss?? i am confused, beacause it kinda works, but im not enterely satisfied by its performance,, anyone having same issue??
replies most wellcome..

Well, it looks like my 4/10 is doing the same thing as what Pixan was talking about. I am going to reinstall the new drivers and see if that fixes the issue. I'm starting to think that M-Audio kinda sucks....           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
