Luiz you make not like Skazi (and i'm not a big fan either) but he has his own style imho, different then a lot of full on. And if he wants to remix, Prodigy thats his problem, not yours. cheers.           "Love is a way of life"

why people can't be creative for themselves (I know it's asking too much in skazi's case) instead of going out ripping classics apart?

That's just wrong dude.......

Being truly creative is expressing (or just accepting within yourself) your ideas and views without fear of people's opinions. Remixes are just as creative as an original. If you don't like it, don't buy it or listen to it, but it is his own creative style regardless and you shouldn't post something just to attack his music. You still could have got your point (opinion on this subject) accross without being a jerk and attacking Skazi's music. That's just my "opinion".

I haven't heard the Skazi rmx, but i think remixing old classic tunes makes for a fun atmosphere at a party.... junya, your remix of Voodoo people is brilliant, U've taken it to another level.... I truely enjoyed Fatali's remix of 50 cents, and i heard something abt a remix of Frozen by Madonna on his new album.... (^_^) .......... can't wait !

So i guess i'm saying Power to u Skazi baba, if firestarter rmx is anything like Teen Spirit, i'm sure it'll burn the world> !!

Boom !

It strikes me that the whole remixing of classic tunes has been taken a little too seriously.

I whole heartedly agree that it is great to push the boundries of where psy-trance is going and be looking for those original ideas and techniques that help the music evolve further. There is however a flip-side to this argument I believe.

Put yourself in the shoes of a first time punter at a Psy club/party who has never really had much experience of head shredding psychedelia. They may find the music a little overwhelming/daunting possibly, even find it difficult to find the groove, let go and lock in.
Then.......drop in a remix of a classic tune in a twisted psy style (e.g. Junyas Voodoo rmx) and bobs your uncle everybody in the party is suddenly united by the fact that they are all simultaneously havin it to a tune that each and everyone of them knows and can instantly relate to! Sometimes it takes that familiarity in the music to allow people new to this sound to open their minds to this fantastic music and embrace it!

It is tunes like the ones mentioned above that have the ability to convert people into avid psy-trance fans and that can only be good for the future of our scene. At the end of the day these remixes are a bit of fun and you can feel that when you listen to the end product. The guys doing the remixes are blantantly having fun and theres nowt wrong with that. Remember there are no rules!
it is still a credible creative process that will always be part of our scene. Some may call it cheap and cheesy but it is these tunes that are often the highlight of someones night!
