Ever wanted to remix a track by New Zealand masters Fiord (aka Antix)? Here is your chance.

Open Records and Fiord are proud to present the Keen String Remix competition, beginning on March 22 and running until June 22. Keen String was one of the most highly regarded tracks from Open Records last CD compilation Festivus - it’s melancholic pads, sweeping atmospheres and deep bass groove made it an afternoon favourite for some of the biggest DJs and artists in the progressive scene.

We are looking for the most creative remixes possible – while at the same time, keeping in tune with the Open Records sound. Feel free to produce anything from progressive, techno and minimal, to trip hop, house, breaks, downbeat and more abstract/experimental styles – there is no limit on what you do with it, so what are you waiting for?

Winners will be judged by their production skills, originality and overall vibe of the track.

Winners will receive:

1) Their tracks mastered and released on Open Records
2) An Open Records T-Shirt
3) A promo download with all our back catalogue and a few special treats

How to enter:

Download the remix pack and when you are finished, send a link to a 320mp3, .wav or .aif file to remix@open-records.net by June 5. Winners will be announced on June 1st. All tracks and sound samples remain the property of Open Records and Fiord and may not be released in any format without written consent.

sounds good! gonna have a bash           Projection makes perception. The world is what you gave it, nothing more than that. It is a witness to your state of mind, the outside picture of an inward condition. As a man thinketh, so does he perceive- Anonymous

well, maybe it would be better if u wouldn't.. from my previous experiences, whenever I listen to the original I make kinda re-edit and not strictly remix, which should be something totally different..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions

Sorry, I took it down for a short while to include a .mp3 version of keen string to download (and yes its 128 bpm). It's in the pack now, but if you downloaded it already and want the track for reference, the link is:

I'm going to give this one a go. I love Fiord/Antix and this was a cool track on Festivus.

Nice work.
