Hello,
I imported a mp3 into my Cubase SX project but was not able to find exact BPM of the song.
Tried using metronome and but that didnt help much. I created a trck with just kick sounds on it and tried to matched it up with the song but I am always of either 1 or 2 beats.
Is there an easier way to find that out? Or is there a tool that finds the BPM of a track?
Many thanks.

Count how many kicks you heard in 15 seconds, then multiply by 4, and you will have how many beats in a minute.

CUbase Sx´s "Tempo Definition Tool". Check the OPeration Manual for full description...
Basicly u need to mark the first 2 beats of the loop/sample, and then Cubase will give u the bpm.

its actually not that hard... usually tracks are between 138 to 145 bpm.
cut the track you import on the first kick and glue it to the 1st beat of the bar. check if the 2nd bar (5th kick) is before or after the bar on qubase ended.
set to correct bpm on cubase.

There has to be something in cubase that can do this, if not, Sony Acid's Beatmapper tool would be the most accurate way. Or you could use traktor..
Sorry i don't use cubase right now |

there`s also the tap tempo option.... in the project menu in cubase. go to beat calculator and just tap away. its not 100% accurate but t will get you close.
if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...
