hi i have a song with a very nice vocal chant in it i want to sample it however there is a banjo over the top of it which i want to get rid of. the method i have been doing is lowpassing it and then using steingbergs voice attenuater, not even sure what this does but it seems to boost be able to boost the lows after the filter back into the mid and high again so the chant sounds more full. if i filter out the banjo completely it sounds really fucked. anybody got any tips? thankyou |

cool edit pro has a noise profiling option which helps u !attenuate! unwanted frequencies. I heard it do amazing stuff with a harp that a bird was irritatingly present in. quite a difference afterwards while the harp was very intact. just profile the instrument sound when its played more / less alone that u want 2 keep & then run the noise remover on the unwanted segment.
However this will only lessen the problem, maybe even sufficiently. but I think its worth a try. |
