I don`t think that it sound plastic, if you know how you can get very good sound out of it.Not only good eq`s, I like the sound of the microphone preamps for fattening my vsti`s and hardware synths...
I don`t want to miss mine...
But I would change it for a Neve or SSL...

Actually the first Hallucinogen material was recorded in the Butterfly studios (Brixton, UK) on a very nice Allen & Heath System 8 Desk.
I've always thought the Mackie was OK but a bit too plastic and cold. I think it's evident on Hallucinogens later material (after moving to his own house with the studio) where the high end is a bit too "screaming" IMO and not as warm as it could be.
