Filesharing Is Not the Enemy

In a 2001 episode of "The Proud Family," a Disney Channel cartoon series, the teenager Penny gets addicted to filesharing after she is shown the wonders of a Napster-like program called EZJackster.
Crazed, she starts downloading all the music she ever wanted. Soon after, chaos erupts. Her favorite singer doesn't get his royalty check, her local record store goes out of business, the police come to her house and threaten to take her jail, and worst of all, her mom takes away her computer. Penny practically single-handedly destroys the U.S. economy before she finally sees that filesharing is wrong.
The episode rings with Reefer Madness-era propaganda; the 1936 film promoted the idea that marijuana makes people go insane, have promiscuous sex, and dance maniacally to jazz music in seedy apartments............

I'm not the one who wrote the article... I'm just posting it here thinking some people mignt be interested by it.... Might agree or disagree...
Beside, Alternet is a great site for news (you can find articles by Michael Moore and many others for exemple...) but that doesn't mean they are right all the time.
Read it and make your own opinion...

I think this is about the most fucked up analogy i read this week  there is no relation between the two. one is a governement add, the other a cartoon. also the subjects don't really relate to eachother in any way. I doubt you think this is a good basis to decide on weither filesharing is good or bad? I hope not!
If you really want some different views on this subject, read the riaa's documentation (available on their websites), copyright law, and the most recent harvard study on filesharing influencing record sales.

Heh - this sounds like an episode of South Park, just attempting to be serious.

Don't take it seriously - it was only a quote from South Park.
I'm sure he had the shark-tank bar installed years ago.
