i cant seem to find out how to "reset" the start of a cycle... when i go to bounce things that have lfo's on them that sometimes are not to my liking i have to bounce a big 16bar or even more sometimes. all of this because i cant seem to control when the lfo will start and will it begin from the time i like the sounds its making or not.
specifically vanguard.

Yes i think it is the only way to do it, bounce enough to cut what u need. The problem is that not all synth got sync and reset buttons for their lfos.
I think vanguard also don't have it, but i don't use it, so i can't say. Albino and z3ta got sync and reset functions.
*checked*
Vanguard have an retrigger button, but if u use this every played not will reset the lfo. But maybe u searching for this

You know the funny thing about LFOs is that with the simplicity of VST Automation in SX (if you use SX) LFOs as song tools are largely obsolete, you can just grab the knob for the destination parameter, turn on the automation W button, and get the same exact sound. Only instance where this is not the case would be if the parameter itself has no knob, but on some softsynths you can assign a generic knob to it, or even with an external controller.
Of course this is not practical when the LFO is part of the actual patch creation and you don't have time to munge with Cubase, or if you are using hardware.
But for VSTi and song oriented LFO work where the LFO is not part of the patch, use Automation. It's a hell of a lot easier, and you can compound it with other automation, and copy the automation to other parameters. |

I've been wanting to ask this question too. Have a bassline with the A1 but the lfo causes the low end to fade in and out, sounds cool but not desirable. And it's a 16 bar bassline so cant really export and get a good loop. Anyway to turn off the LFO or freeze it at a certain position? |

If you want to automate the parameters in SX instead of using an lfo like br0d described you can choose the line-tool and change it to different shapes like sine. This comes more closely to the desired lfo-shapes.
