What easily portable equipment do ppl recommend for getting field recording/interviews/spoken pieces on the run?
I spend a lot of my spare time hanging out and helping a homeless bloke, and he has a very profound view of the world. He's agreed to let me sample him in my music in the future (don't worry, he'll receive quality care/payment for his services).
Cheers

using this one...
nice and compact, records in 24bit wav or flac, though battery life is terrible, lasts for about 4-5 hrs.

Been using my Zoom h2 for a long time now, and I love it to bits. Cheap, small, durable, great battery life and of course the recordings are awesome.
Recordings do need a bit of de-noising, especially if they're from outside and its windy and you are only using the standard wind sock.
