I've got few questions:
1. Under the fader of each chanel of cubase there are numbers that related to the volume.
As well for the master fader.
Can somebody once and for all can explain me what is the diffrence bitween each number?
i understand that the bottom number is like the default option for the fader volume. But what is excaly the upper number?

2. When people say for example that kick have to bee around -5db where shuold i see it? at the fader of the kick or at the master fader when i put it on solo? i thought it is showing the same thing but yesterday when i was working on my project i noticed that my kick fills for me too low at the volume but it was showing -3 at the kick fader but -12 at the maser fader on solo.

3.What is the industry standard of working for sample rate 48000 or 44100?

4.when i save prestes where do i find the files of the prestes i've made? ( I'm not talking about the fxb\fxp files)

hi
1. the first number is the peak volume of the last sound that was played on the track. the second number is the actual volume of the track.

2. when people say the kick should be -5 db they mean the first number - the actual volume. if your kick is normalized to 0 db then both numbers will coincide.

3. 44.1 khz for electronic music mainly. 48 khz for tv.

4. presets are saved to xml files somewhere in documents and settings / applications data / steinbegr / cubase; and afaik can't be moved to the new version. thereofore if you want to reinstall cubase you probably want to save the needed presets separately to files.
however the presets you use in a project are saved there also.

thanks for the answers but i still don't undrstand how is it that my kick has a different number at its fader than at the master? how is it possible that is shown for me that at the kick fader the volume is+2db but on the master volume it's -10db? and it not fills to me like +2db...

4. no
go to progfiles, cubase sx3, application data folder ,
go to presets, choose the proggy and there are your selfmade presets.
