I hope nobody minds if I post another topic here about the festivals in Croatia...a lot of people from the forum have been sending me PMs about the festivals we have to offer this year and I think this will be really informative and much more simple then replying to tons of private messages...ok here goes
First off from the 26th to the 31th of July there will be a festival called Free Spirit on The island of Cres..the lineup is really small with mostly local djs and the entire festival concentrates on workshops and presentations...the party will only last one day and the rest of the happenings will be in the town. There will be small lounge parties during the days on the beaches so if you're just looking for a place to chill out and learn something new and interesting then feel free to drop by...the homepage of the entire organisation is www.submedia.hr and it will be online soon...hopefully  The price is around 7 euro.
then after that the next festival to see would be Underwater Overground from the 5th till the 8th of August on the island of Hvar on the south of Croatia...the entire program will begin 2 days before the 5th and there will be an after party as well at the same location for around 2-3 days...Before the festival begins we will probably show some movies and play some console games before we start using the projectors for VJing..it all depends on how many people arrive and what they decide to do...we're still talking about that part...the after party will be on the beach and it will be for free, everyone can stay and camp there for as long as you like. The official website is www.underwater-overground.com and all the info I can tell you right now is there so pls check the website...there are still a lot of things we have to confirm so there are weekly updates on the site...so just keep checking it. Needless to say that this is the biggest festival we have to offer this year. The price is 35 euros but we will offer daily tickets if you wish to stay for only one or two days. This is mainly because of local people who aren't used to festivals and don't have as much money.
After that the next festival is Media Mediterranea. There isn't much info yet about this festival but the dates are probably going to be from the 13th to 15th of August and the location will be somewhere on a beach near Pula in Istria which is to the north of the entire country...the official website of the organisation is www.metamedia.hr and it's still offline, I'm not working on this one so I can't say when it will be online In any case the festival will probably be more than just trance orientated but don't expect a huge lineup..it will probably last for 2 days...I think the price will be around 7-8 euro but I'm just guessing.
The last festival we have to offer is over the rainbow...since I'm not in any way connected to the organisation I suggest you check the website since it has all the info...the dates are from 13th to 22nd of August and the website is www.overtherainbow2004.tk I'm just sorry that it will overlap with media mediterranea since I'm having a workshop and dj set there. From what I understand the entrance is free
Now as for arrival to Croatia...a low budget german airline www.germanwings.com has recently started flying from Bonn to Zagreb and Split...There is also one cheap airline from Sweden and Denmark that goes to Split, www.flysnowflake.com. So if you're coming to either underwater overground or over the rainbow I suggest you book a flight to Split..for others Zagreb is a bit more near..since some festivals are on islands I suggest you check www.jadrolinija.hr for ticket reservations for ferry rides...if you're coming without a car the boats are really really cheap and there are lots of them connecting Hvar and Cres..If you're coming by car I think the ferry rides will cost you around 50 euro...it depends a lot on the dates and seasons. For arriving to Pula and Rijeka I suggest you book train or bus tickets. The website for trains is www.hznet.hr but it's only in Croatian unfortunately
For all festivals besides Underwater Overground I would suggest you come by car...because you will have to travel from the towns to the locations...of course you can come by train or bus as well, but it's much simpler by cars. As for underwater overground the location is only 3km away from Jelsa which is a port on Hvar and we will have organised buses from the port to the location. But then again, 3km is not such a long walk
