it called my attention, the most of the festivals from edition to edition rise their ticket prices, should say normal cause everything gets expenssiver all the expences etc. But the thing is the usual increase of last years at festivals is huge IMO tooo huge. for example a festival ticket costed last year 70 eur, and this year 100 that's increase of 40% from one year to another.
I mean i don't pay my bread neither 40% expensiver each year. so relatively it does not correspond to the gemneral increase (inflation) or there is another inflation in trance festivals
what's your opinion about this?

Maybe they didn't make enough to cover costs last year? Who knows? Festival planning isn't an exact science. There are too many unpredictable factors involved. The market for these events is almost nothing like the market for bread... so comparing the two makes little sense.

@Basilisk I did;t meant to compare the bread with the festival, just to give an idea and to figure out this disproportional increase.
also took part in organizing festival, so I do have a idea about the possible costs and expences. but if you look the most of the festivals the prices from one to another edition increases too much.
I know many artists having the same fee for some years now, and travel expences like airplane tickets even getting cheaper,.
so why so much? yeah psy capitalism ...

Are they bringing in more/bigger talent? Maybe they simply didn't get enough people last year and that caused them to have to raise the price. Maybe the venue raised their price? There's a lot of things that can cause this.
People really need to stop bitching about this stuff because most of the time it's unjustified. Festivals cost a LOT of money and the ticket price a person pays to relax and have a good time the whole weekend is nothing compared to the cost of the party. Not to mention that the orgs are the ones busting their butts to keep everything working/run the gate/run security/setup beforehand/teardown afterwards. Most of the time the org loses money on the party anyway, so you should appreciate the time, effort and money they invested into it.

+100, definitely agree. its on the path to becoming like any other concert i.e. coachella, lollapalooza. now all you need is $5.00 bottled water (330ml)if it hasn't already happened.

Who are they booking in these overpriced places, U2? As long as the prices are WAY below commercial Festivals, I'm happy.
It shouldn't cost them much to book Procs and O.O.O.D.
It all depends on how much profit the organizers are searching for, if any at all |
