Hello all,
I am actually looking for a while in many websites and I finally found this forum, so maybe one of you could help me. I want to do a 2weeks trip in japan from July to December 2009 and would like to attend a huge psytrance festival during the trip. For the time being I just know from cds and video 'The Beach' festival and I heard that 'The Gathering' is one of the biggest one.
Can anyone tell me if these 2 festivals are planned again this year or would have useful websites/links to give me so that I can schedule my trip in advance
Which one would you advice me the best?
I wont attend the solar eclipse its too far and too expensive for me. thx
I appreciate so much your help !!
BOOM!

I wouldn't recommend the Gathering, VQ has been having troubles and the last one was a disaster from what I hear.
The Beach is set on a great location, mostly israeli full-on music, it should be great if you enjoy this style.
I would recommend Mother's SOS festival in august, they make great parties and I think it is the biggest in the last few years. Good luck!

I don´t know what you´re looking for, but The Beach is crap - pop psy at its peak. Horrible music, a confused, childish crowd. As for VQ, this party is long dead - expect only psy-zombies to attend it.
There´s Solstice, 50% of your expectations fulfilled.
If you want to try the real flavor of J psy, do avoid big parties. They´re way too $$$, and have lost their magic.
Try real small parties, with no blinking-flashing big names, these are the best.
Unless you are looking for glitter-psy. |

Ok cosmochan, point taken. You are right.
I am just being sincere. It´s a pity that people come to Japan wishing to have a taste of the so famous J psy scene and then finds himself disappointed with huge parties like The Beach or Global Exposition, while there are real nice good parties around.
But then, perhaps that´s what this US guy wants.
