Fire poi is great as long as proper safety procedure is being followed... don't just light up indoors, for example. Have a fire extinguisher handy. And yes, set up away from the crowd. It is a different matter entirely when there is a planned show at a festival, but if you're just a punter, then be respectful and considerate of those around you. I have seen accidents happen and they are not pretty.
Oh, and you would think it doesn't need to be said, but don't play with fire while you're high. Seriously.

more fire!!!
i love playing with fire poi and staff. i love watching other people play with fire too...
so yes, please, more fire!

to be honest, red is kinda lame compared to blue...

i love using the poi.. but im still learning.. got myself the fire poi as well as the fire staff, but gonna practise with the regular poi before i try to burn myself  ehehehehe

i do a bit of practice poi once in a while... hope to give it some time and learn more moves in future..
and i just bought myself devilsticks ...
so does any one know of a website where i can get free lessons on learning the devilsticks?

@ Psyslim: devil stix are easy mate.. u cant really learn from a website. just keep tossing them around and u will slowly get the tricks.. thats how i learnt them... best of luck...

I've been spinning longer than I've been producing..I think in general it's just an art form in itself that tends to go well in combination with psytrance..

nothing beats a good spinner, whose poi are flying right to the beat of the music, for a good while... Nothing sucks like getting into it only to have the rhythm messed up...
ALSO: Spinners, if you start spinning in the middle of the dancefloor, expect to get hard, bad, nasty looks. We're dancing here! This is a dance party! I dont care what you're on! Get the fuck back! And if you cant keep it together enough to stay away from the dancers, WATCH OUT!!! DAMMIT! I cant count how many times Ive had to dodge, ninja style, a flying object on the end of a chain... That always strikes me as disrespectful and just plain rude.
DONT DRINK AND SPIN POI. Try bostaffs  .

LMAO!!
I would never intrude on someone's dance floors, because when im not spinnin POI, im bangin it out onthe dance floor too of course!!
I wouldn't want some asshole to come start spinnin where im dancin at and "accidently" hit one of us...
There is a time and place for it... Steer clear of Stompers!
Plus it looks better from a little distance

Im off to try out my fire poi tonight for the first time.. have practised enuf with the regular poi.. Wish me luck guys!!!
and dont worry, im not gonna start spinning in the middle of the dance floor!!!
