Faxi Nadu's Modular Crash Course
- most suitable for the beginner to intermediate user and geared towards techno/trance/idm/ambient thought process

25e for the entire course! - Sign up via the link!

March 30 - April 1
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
00:00 - 02:00 GMT (Times are subject to change depending on hemispheres of majority of participants)

Three sessions of two hours each, possibly a bonus session if not all topics are covered in time. The sessions will also be recorded and available to participants for download.

The course will be using Google Hangouts, and you will be able to see our screen directly and listen to the presentations. There will be an online chat where you can interact and ask questions.

We will be using the Sonic Core Scope DSP Platform and Modular System for this course. You absolutely do not need to own the system, as the concepts shown are valid for any modular system. Of course, you will get an in-depth look at the Scope Modular, and get acquainted with this very nice system. In the last session we will have a brief look at other systems like the Nord Modular G2 and the analog Eurorack (via webcam)

--- Agenda ---

- Basic layout and workflow of Scope DSP System
- Why modular?
- Differences between modular system concepts
- Basic layout and workflow of Scope Modular System
- Modular components and signal chain.
- Modular tricks and unique modules

We will get in depth and build a variety of machines while explaining how and why things are done.

- 3 Osc Synth
- Bassline Synth
- Theramine Clone
- Sequenced Stuff
- Glitch Machines
- Drum Machines
- Noise and Drone
- Granular Synthesis
- Live Ambient Platform
- Clones of HW / VSTI

The course is not rigid and whatever comes to mind in regards to modular and synthesis in general will be discussed, as well as any questions answered and ideas from participants developed.

Goals of the course:

- That you will feel much more comfortable with synthesis in general, and be able to understand better what is going on behind the scenes of any synth.
- Getting you going in using modular synthesis.
- Providing you with concepts and tools to take your own modular ideas to the next level.
- Getting you addicted

lol.... ive never known such contradiction in all my life.

joking aside, aaawwwww sonic core, bigtime gel!

although if i had the ... you no that paper that we all need to progress and survive in life, u know that thing that is a big obstacle in our evolution, i would defiantly consider this course to help support you and your sexy girlfriend, but erm i dont even kno what 25euros translated to in British pound...

i have a jam with ace, tassman now and again but feel i could benefit with a head start instead of sitting there working it out for myself for several winters, springs, summers and autumns...

cheers good luck man oh and if i do consider, would be possable to be taught by your missus via skype? il pay extra for a lil more,if u kno what i mean she spins me right round like a record baby yeh right round , she spins me.... yeh u get the picture ... LOL!!!!

na just messin.. my compliments mate ;-)

its not a contridiction. i am not going to hold your hand and tell you what to put after 16 bars offering to provide technical insight on how to use a tool.

as for the rest - lol dude probably a good idea to go easy on the crack

AFAIK it's a similar idea, but more open to external developers (with all that entails in terms of quality and stability). My understanding is that it's more biassed towards instrument plugins than FX than UAD is. Faxi will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
