While we all have our favorite chill tunes of all time etc I was wondering what you people like to listen to when you are travelling ? In the car , in the train , on the plane .... wherever ... when you are doing that long journey from A to B ...what are your audio companions ? |

well usually i wake up in the morning to go to university early in the morning. I go by bus which is like a 45 min ride. recently i'm listening to tip worlds compilation twelve. I think its one of the best compilation albums made. it really relaxes you. also dub trees - nature never did betray the heart that loved her is really relaxing. when the sunny days have began to come, it just futs a sweet smile on your face.

the work of Underworld is, to me, perfectly tailored for long interstate car journeys. Second Toughest in the Infants, Dubnobasswithmyheadman, Beaucoup Fish, and the Dark and Long single are all excellent. |

For the night travelling I like the collaborations of Biosphere/H.I.A/Namlook - 'Polar Sequences','Birmingham Frequencies','The Fires Of Ork II'. Also some of The Orb's (like 'Orblivion', 'U.F.Orb'), Isan, ...
During the day travelling I prefer more beats - Orbital, Spooky, Funkstorung, Astrobotnia, FSOL & Amorphous Androgynous.
The April Records' Compilation series 'Boredom Is Deep And Mysterious' are very good too.
Oh, and Baby Fox - especially 'Dum Dum Baby', great record! |

Plane:
the best time is when you are geting ready to land (daytime) and u can see the city below u.. a new and foreign land or maybe just getting back to home after a long journey the warm cosyness of landing back in the motherland yummiee....
i like etheogenic / shpongle / shulman .. something little happier--releasing all the seratonin.... somethign connecting you to that place inside u where all the joy lives.. and then basking in it coz it oozes out from everywhere.. YUMMMIEEEE
at night when i wanna fall asleep FSOL - lifeforms
while driving i like harder music unless im really tired of fullon (happening more often these days) or listening to jazz/bossanova |
