my best & more used eq is by far Sonnox, but its more a surgical eq (without "coloring") than "analog" type eq's with group delay algorithms and part from that im using the pultec from urs, which is really nice and waves (Q,parametric)for general filtering or equing and the api/ssl but these are most suited in mastering process imo,
So the question is which is your favorite native eq to "color" & warm up the middle area (400Hz-1500KHz about) (UAD is excluded cause they kick ass anyway ), for using it with bass & leads mostly

wow ppl care about music more then being anal eq genious
they are all good mate.. i always rather those with the analizer in them like voxengo , FL eq2 , equim , etc etc.. for sure yeah if u got powercore or uad then they have more quality cause they have more process power or something (not sure why but they does sound better , or that it was that TI in that studio , or the monitors lol)

I actually love PSP MasterQ, tried a bunch of other eqs, but stayed with this one due to nice intuitive gui, results and last but not least - it's not eating up my resources

com on, im not an anal eq genious, just trying to have a conversation & also believe that eq can really destroy everything in a mix
i think there are dozens of conversations about analog eq's and their specific use, where they are good at and such so with so many Eq plugins thats around, some must have advantages on the specific area im talking about, some not, others are sound more tight, others have better Q factor and such ..
i was aiming for a conversation not for "use this and everything is gonna be fine" but anyway nice adds thanx

in fact lot of eqs just don t have any mojo , like the waves api ssl ... it s just different gui with different q curves , it s like that for lot of plugins eqs ,lot of them us same algorythms and juts a few eq add mojo to the sound, like hydratone for example and maybe some uad plugs ... |

i dont like hydratone that much, but its very famous for coloring.
i dont like it, because i simple dont like the gui. sounds stupid, but thats it.
for coloring i realy dig the urs cs pro (1972 bell in most cases) btw. you got a sonnox? i realy think it does a great job for coloring in the high-frequency ranges,

i used sonnox too for some percussion, hats group mostly and it really open the sound nicely, i dont think thats coloration , a little boosting at about 5Khz made the hats stand out without blurring and sounded clear ,,
i feel stupid, yesterday i was digging the eq from TC powercore that (out of ignorance maybe) had never used it and found that it is a dynamic Eq and reaaaaly does a good job , you can enable to dynamic to work on each of the four bands separately
for example i have my kick/bass and percussions and i have a lead thats just a hit every 4/4 but the lead has a big fat low end that i dont want to miss, cause it gives power , so i put a high pass till 150 about and then a notch at around 350, where the notch is dynamic , with threshold and release adjusted to taste and the sound was much smoother, louder without conflicting with other frequencies so much and it made a pumping effect to it thats pretty much desirable to me , and at the right spot, where you love to hear the bass and the lead is masking it for a second or less and you have the fatness of both mixed..
anyway have to dig that thing a lot now, hope i find the other ones you mentioned, and theres too little time for all that
