guitar if you mean favourite to play. i don't pick nearly enough anymore, but it's still a good time to just jam out.
but favourite instrument: oh god, didg' is such a rich, awesome sound. a deep, moving, bassy instrument entirely based off of rhythmic timbral variations? fuck yeah!

i play jew arps too , some kind of flute that come from around the himalaya dont know the name..and some other strange little instrument ppl got me back from traveling around the world but it s just a little.. before i played piano guitars djembé (i want to buy one again)..i have a sitar but just scracthed the surface too i think i m gonna use it for sampling to use in electronic music.making psytrance with just sampled etnics instruments ,field recordings .. is one thing i wanna do ,tribal psytrance..
guys i dont remember how to synthezie some kind of jew arps sound,didgeridoo..i had some patchs on a synth long long ago (dont really remember on what synths but i think it was the prophecy...)
digeridoo, jew arps flute.. anyone that come with some patch for zebra would be nice (i think aalto could be really good for this but it s not that popular, its possible to make amzing flute sounds too)
if i get some time for it i might try to find how on the net and post some patchs

I think didge could be a good start from a square with a bit of higher attack and an up to middle release.
I have also some toys like rainshaker, some african claps thing and a few other things like xylophone some bells etc. And a quite nice pan flute which I can't play
Cool tune Ascension

a square alone won't do the trick. what about the breath sound? add also a noise oscillator, perhaps going to its own separate filter/filters with keyboard tracking and some delay/feedback and then together with your tone oscillators into another filter system.
i would also add a triangle osc doing sub-osc of the square, also going to seperate filters and perhaps slight feedback/delay of its own before sums with the noise and square to the main filters.
if not a didge, a cool sound anyhow for sure
try in a modular environment (a good one not synthedit or it will sound like poop) and don't be shy to stack filters. if the sound dies from too much filtering try putting saturator type modules between some of the filtering.
also for the pitch wobbles, i would use an lfo or maybe even two lfos to modulate the frequency of the lfo that modulates the pitch. maybe have a tiny variation between the pitch modulations of the sqaure osc and the triangle sub, send seperate lfos to each osc, but with very similar, but not identical parameters.
add velocity control to the main filters to simulate the brightnes variation when blowing stronger in a didge.
you do all this, and tweak a lot then you will come close i'm sure.
-----------
flutes:
take a triangle osc and a noise osc, with the same method i described above. k/b-track the filter.
also you can of course experiment with noise + a resonating filter/filters... additive synthesis with a sine bank + noise osc, also an option.
-------
jew harp... no idea :0
on topic: i can't play an instrument to save my life, not in any traditional sense anyway.

of course its not enough to synthesize a nice didge I ment only a start point. Also lfo modulations to second osc waveform can be here interesting I think, since you form the airpressure with your lips when you play didge, although square could be a ground basis, a first osc wave untouched of modulations to waveform, maybe a bit pwm. I think modulations like morphing of trinagle and maybe some sort of saw could be fun for second osc.
Lp filter etc I guess its hard to make a good one though maybe with physical modeling it would be nicer.

yah good idea. i was also thinking about it but rare are the synths that sweep osc shape well.
if you have a waldorf wavetable osc it can do it really nice.
on my scope dsp card's modular are very nice pulse-tri oscilators, perfect for this.
