I think it´s the opposite an enhancer but I´m very happy with a JS plugin called -thunderkick- for a bassline, the result is a very deep bass.
With thunderkick on look at the first fourth harmonics. (The setting is slightly different from the above picture).

Phaser.
I tell everyone. Just, a phaser. No Sidechain, no EQ. Just phaser. Voila.

For full-on psytrance I always separate bass into 2 layers: Low and High. I use the low section as a mono channel with compression, then the hight I usually make differend things, like exciting, distorting, chorus, phaser, eq and compressor.
In other genres I don't feel the need of layering and just with some EQ and Comp.

I've read here that some people are using the Uhbik Phaser (from U-he) in some bass lines. Kind of funny since there's another thread going here where phase shifting caused by regular EQ is reguarded as an unwanted artifact. Seriously though, phase problems on the low end is something to avoid, not much of a problem with the very tiny decay times introduced by a regular EQ, but a phaser? unless we're talking absolutely no movement/modulation, just dialing in some settings and using it steady. Or maybe just on some mid-rangy layer? Also curious here!

Oh, right.
Well all you really need is a phaser that has the same features as this one.
Set the rate to 0.00 and that's it..
Tweak order and ceiling/floor,
I usually find order 12, floor 280 and feedback 20 pretty harmonic.

I guess there's many ways to do it, but 'steady' is kind of the magic word here. The only 'sectret' is not using any 'depth'.
With Uhbik-P the standard setting for a usable bass is a centered freq, 'wet'= 100, 'depth' = 0, 'gain' = 0. The other options don't matter, as long as 'depth' is at 0.
In this example the first half is without any phasing. The second half is with 'operation' is set to 12. Everything else is set as explained above. So there's just some harmonics added to the bass.

EDIT: The zippyshare-player still makes every bassline sound like kids playing in a tub of mud. You have to download it to get an idea of what I mean... |

I have never used a bass enhancer. Didn't know such a thing existed
I do like, however, to use phase distortion on the bass. If used cautiously, it can alter the character of the sound quite a bit, without messing up the entire lowend too much.
Good luck with the project! Haven't been at it for a while, but I have written some plugs myself. So - what platform? Framework...?

For now windows only because I dont have access and developing experience on mac . I use only vstsdk and pure C++ so its difficult but I have more control over my code. I have plan to make a simple framework but this is only the beginning and I have never though that one day I will start developing something like this. I hate staff like filters and fourier transformation when I was on university and now I am studying these thing on my free time. It will take a lot of time but one day I maybe come with somenthing serious .

Have used Saturn, but don't anymore.
Have used RBass on the x0x as it has significantly less sub response than other synths (same as the TB really).
Have used Decapitator, just a touch in the mix, for color.
Also the Moog MF-103 Phaser with no LFO modulation on the frequency works great.
But for psy-trance bass, I generally don't use enhancers, the Minitaur needs slimming if anything else. It has tons of bass from the source.
