Hi guys I writing my own bass enhancer plugin based on psychoacustic so I want to ask you which is your fauvorite plugin for this job? I have tried Waves plugin MaxxBass and G-Sonique plugin XBassmax 4000L they both sound good to me but I want to make something on my own . I`ve tried some free plugins as well. So if you know about something special I will be glad If you let me know. Thx and good luck with Noise making!!!           https://soundcloud.com/nebulosity

It is quite useful I think to be able to make the bottom part of the bass mono and the rest stereo.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

the four transformers in my pair of chandler germanium compressors. depending on how hard you hit them, can result in a warming/rounding/softening that seems to make the bass sit better in a track, to some full on 2nd and 3rd harmonic distortion which can bring more clarity and presence.           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma

i agree with faxinadu good eq and compression is 99 % I like to use the plugins of waves Rbass what give a nice warm caracter on the bass ,but if you got already a warm bass don't ,and fabilter saturn i start discovering and this kicks ass , I think also use some other plugins like CLA bass from waves and mess around or other bass boost or saturators ,peace bro

Here's a freeware plug to make the low end mono (or stereo if you like)
http://www.toneprojects.com/products/plug-ins/basslane/

Usually I don't do all that much to my basses besides minimal eqing, but lately I've been using Saturn quite a bit, it seems to give just a bit more presence to the bass without really changing the sound too much (unless you want to, it can do heavy saturation too).

Sometimes I like to put some kind of bass enhancer on basses in non-trance tracks, WOK BassPlus and SyncerSoft Bass Landscapes seem to do a good job, and both are free.

Yeah, I never use that Basslane either. I usually make my kick and bass stems mono when mixing down in Reaper.           .

My favorite recent trick is using IVGI saturator to generate more tone in the bass, adding a low shelf boost, and setting a low frequency rolloff point. I used to use bass enhancers, but I haven't found a free one that I really like.

You might want to consider generating sine partials based on the dominant harmonic, and allowing shaping of the sub waveform.

Yes I want something like that. In first phase I select bass (LP or BP) then saturate it and filter out what I want with BP probably. Saturation character will be selectable from 4 maybe more options. I must find frequency distance between original bass selection and generated partials because I dont want to make two independant parametes for this. It will have more options with that but also be harder to set up. So parameters will be: Frequency, Input, Output, Drive (pre-saturation), BassOriginal, BassGenerated and SaturationCharacter.

If I have version compatible with most DAW I will share it with you and you can get me a feedback .

i would investigate phase shifts ! phase and saturation.

i m not sure but some transformers can add something nice down there like babaluma mention, and i think it might be a combinaison of both.

You should try Fabfilter Saturn, since it pretty much does what you're looking for. You can create up to 6 freely adjustable filter bands. For each band you can choose between 16 different saturation modes. Each band is again split into four parts for which you can individually alter the level, drive, feedback settings etc.
The possibilities of changing the charakter of your bass are practically endless.
