Muon Tau Pro is very good...even though I have the demo with that annoying scratch noise every 7 seconds... I recommend adding dynamics/compression (Multi Band Compressors) to the bass and other plugins such as the Waves MaxxBass if you need to bring out that low-end...layering two sounds together can often give good results also

Checked again and again and i find this muon proggie really simple and not really helpfull. Is there any worthy patch in Reason or Reaktor?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

i ain't no pro, quite new to it myself....
but this gets me to the basics off a decent
bassline...

i'm not quite sure what kind of level you are at, but say when using reason synth are you using low pass filters...
how do you basslines sound?
is there too much higher frequencies in their?
i find by having on my nords low pass filters set 12dB/24dB(only the low & mid frequencies pass through and cuts out the higher frequencies & by adjusting the filter frequency anti-clockwise it adjusts for me what higher frequencies not to get filtered through....same with the resonance aswell...

i hope this makes sense, then through cubase vst's bit of reverb & eq as others said so just apply this to reason aswell....

in the tau pro, use saw five, reduce the cut and Q to the minimum, put on the accent on halfway and the decay that way as well, and EQ. that's one Phat bass. also, use tritium. i found out it's simple enough and effective as heck.
also, you can use the tau pro and tritium for 303 leads and even some viruslike sounds.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

You can always use a combination of 2 oscillators - try to use one saw and one square and detune one of them 1 octave up or down (I think it's the full rotation of the detune knob). Use that for phat basslines Radial Blur style!

Hey Ninja,

According to Kox Box cunt is a state of mind too, and so is tea

And now back to topic..

In certain situations when the bassline isnt continuous ( every sixteenth note ) you might use a delay. It's not easy cuz you might get your bottom ends little 'muddy' but in the right amount it works just fine. Check out Eight.dotted delays on square rhythm basslines and quarter delays ( or 1/8 ) on shuffled rhythm basslines.
