Hey guys could you help me please to create a fat bassline. I am using Reason and Fruity and i just can't make the bass sound right. I want to do something like the bassline in Cosma - Find Out and like Gms's basslines.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

what kinds of VST's are you using in FL?

you can allways use the Fruity's simsynth, using the flat saw (second preset from the top) and eq it right.
also, seek out some of muon's works, such as the tau and the tau pro or even the atom pro. they have some serious working pluses. try also using the tritium, and excellent bass synth, also good for those phat lead sounds.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. in reason play with controllers like first filter freq and resonance and filter envelope decay - 3 main characteristics of sound in reason not including waveform.

I couldn't do anything good with Tritium, but Moun Tao Pro is just great.
You just need to know why each knob does (just experiment with them) and you'll be great.

try to add some chorus on it , that makes the bass thicker sometimes:-)           Visit our website at: http://www.tegmatekk.com

Caroxo Moderator....

Chorus is nice trick and if some ressonance added
to chorus it would sound even better ...
My tip of the day is to use Reaktor and try to get
and ensemble from the premiere library called«little big bass»,it emulates the TB sounds in "perfection" and has lots of other patches fully
modulated ....

Peace and let the games begin !!!:)

tegma, i hate chorusing the Bass. it makes it's sound be awkward. sometimes it lands on the kick frequency and you can hardly control it, and it sounds pretty lame. what i do instead, is double the bassline part, and make some minor changes on one of them. that way the bassline sounds real subby, and you can allways dissent it from the kick freq.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. yeah i know what u mean jason, but chorusing can be good on slow basslines under 136bpm, over that it could sound a bit weird yes..           Visit our website at: http://www.tegmatekk.com

a good source (tau pro , tbl, ninga) would be nice for start....

after that it's all about eq'ing it right , try to choke it a little bit....

a very short reverb can be nice sometimes....

basicly ,i think that a good baseline is all about eq

square pusher what i meant is, i put on the same bass line part (with minor changes) and play it along with the other bass line
tegma, maybe your right. thuogh my slowest tracks to date are 135 and 75 bpm, i prefer a clean bassline rather than one with some effects on it.
ninja is a great tool for bass, but it has this latency issue im not so comftrable with. and i agree with tomer - EQ is everything!           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb
