Hello...i did the shame choice to buy a Fast Track Pro in order to buy a Focusrite Saffire...dont ask me how i did this mess...
any way....
i have now a Native Audio Dj2 with a LOUD output, and with my Sennheiser HD439 wich have a little low volume it dosent sound as loud as my earbuds+ipod...
knowing now the Fast Track Pro got a Gain output volume problem, what could i do?i will try to sell it but a 100dollar PreAmp as Audio Buddy would be nice?
As proably even o Saffire my headphone could sound not soo loud the preamp looks a nice choice?

I don't want to scare you but I had a Fast Track Pro and I'm happy that is a past. At the begininng everything worked fine but after few months drivers instability was horrible. Audio dropouts were very often and I had to restart my computer to hear any sound.
Even system reinstall didn't helped. I'm working on Win 7 64b PC and I don't know how it works on Macs (if you use it).
So if you also work on windows and you have a option to return it or sell just do it. Check also m-audio forums or their facebook page this is very often problem.
Now I have Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 and any issues, works perfect
I didn't notice the issue you ask, loudness of headphone output was fine
