apologies for another boring question on getting a proper bass sound.I've read a lot of discussions and used the search function on setting the virus and running it with cubase sx but just can't get my virus c to make a fast and phat baseline.I can get niiiiiiicccccce sounding leads and pads but the bass always seem to lack phatness and speed.I would appreciate it if anybody has any suggestions regarding settings, parameters etc.
happy days! |

Well thats how i make some of my basses.
use in both osc saw waveform with one note polyphony
Pitch the one down -12 and the other to 0.
Eq bass near 400hz or whenever u like and boost the middle range at 800+ hz.
filters in the middle.
Use the attack in ADSR to avoid clipping and some disto and open the sub osc fade to to give it more character.
Thats a base that works for me,depending on the note u are playing some times.Expirement more and u are there

you can try the velocity to the cutoff in the mod matrix , use the punch and remove a bit the click wiht eq and the most important must be the filter envelop use decay and sustain, it works for me |
