Hi all, i have been quite a lot on Istratrance lately especially after FMF2004 which changed my way of thinking that in the psytrance scene everybody understands good music. I feel that the scene right now is incredibly f..... because it's gone mostly commercial actually i can't beleive it but anyway do you think that it's a matter of opinion or do you think that it's a matter of money? Did money turn our beautiful hippy scene into what it is today? What can we do to get the scene back on track?

The world is not the same as 10 years ago.
All musical genres has been well explored and lost it shimmer. The vibe between people is different, not just on trance parties.
There seems to bee waves like this in human evolution, and the end of 80s to beginning of 90s had a similar energy to the 60's.
Now we are again in a phase similar to the end of 70's beginning of 80's.
Eventually there will come new inspiration, and I think that it's definatly been getting better already if you compare to 2-4 years ago.
To speed us out of this wave, I belive in satyrs solution

I guess you are right, but you maybe know that when you live for music these things bug you bigtime it's like i am losing inspiration i think i need to go to India to get it all back. I also am making music and i am searching for sounds that produce what inside my soul like many artists know it's really hard work and you really do not get paid for it compared to other jobs! But i am addicted and my soul just wants to give this big present to the world! I think we need to go to the next step because everybody is saying that before it used to be better but i see music nowadays is of much higher level and intelligence of course some of it is!

It is false, if u want to earn money change style like Sebastian Krüger and make house, or techno or pop music.

Krueger could be an example for some. He changed his style, and earns money now making good music. Hehehe... And I for one am glad the whole hippy culture of this scene is changing. It only gives the music a more mature edge instead of the always happy and cheerful hippy a-holes. Music is change people... except it or simply stop bitching about it and leave people who like the scene as it is now alone. |

Does that mean doing something for money is more mature, than doing something to be cheerful and happy?
And do I get it right, that you think a hippie is an "a-hole" and people who opportunisticly change their style of music, to earn more money are mature?

You have some serious problems mate. You're actually taking my words and giving a whole new meaning to them. If you would just read correctly you'd know. But hey, the people in this scene are so full of sh*t most of the time .. Probably because of the drugs... hehehe

What we need is more psychedelics. As Spindrift said, look at the 60's. A lot of hippies gathering to music and having fun. Why? Because of LSD.
The actual drug problem are depressants like alcohol etc. They close your mind, instead of opening it.

With the hippy a-holes I mean the kind of people you see here so often. You know the ones? We want the old days back etc. People that can't handle real life obviously and want their music to be all happy and cheerfully instead of multiple forms of emotion as it is done today by a lot of artists...
