Anyone ever make fake break endings, where a break is building and building, and it seems like it's done, and people jump, but you add a bar or 2 extra, then finish the break?

I don't know if anyone knows what I mean, but if anyone does haha I would like to know more about this.

I'm making one right now, but I think it would throw people threw too much of a loop.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

I remember eskimo did it in the track..... "jhfsfmmm" can´t remember the name of it, he adds a massive build up and throws in a sample which says something like -Hey hey im sorry we need to stop the party the police are here.........) then another breakdown.....

Hella annoying. 2 cents..... don´t do it           Demand recognition for the Armenian genocide 1915

I think Vegetal refers to Eskimo - party popper.

If it´s used smartly is a good trick to surprise the audience and I think Psytrance has to surprise and trick your mind.

I'm probably the wrong guy to answer the question because I'm heavily in favor of having lots of energy flowing through my tracks consistently. I wouldn't do it.

Like anything I'm sure it can be intelligently done. Party pooper was ok...if at a party - listening to that kind of break "stop the party, police are here etc" at home in the sofa just plain sucks...

You can do that!
But it has to be something epic, fun or... rememberable!
I think after such break you need to blast off, with really high energy on track.
Or else you can put something like this after the intro. A sudden drop then full throttle!
It's good for DJ sets. Then you know that's your track comming out!

Party pooper is from the time when I could bear listen to Eskimo!

So many artists do this that NOT having a fake drop is surprising.

i think it's very easy to do it...just do a good break and after it move everything that comes after the break how many bars that you want and fill the space with what you want.

Don't listen to all those who say: "don't do it" , "it's annoying"... WTF!!!!?? Do whatever you want, respect anyone you like... decide what kind of music YOU WANT to create.

I constantly read a lot of psytrance purists around here that seem to believe they have the TRUE way of psy production.

Fuck em, if you want to create fake drops just do it... i find it very entertaining specially when you dance to it on drugs cause one actually believes it is going to explode and it just won't.

Just don't overuse it because it wouldn't be a surprise anymore but hey really just do WHATEVER YOU WANT.

Not even half of the bluenames around have Eskimo's production skills...

I agree that some of his material (specially rapped megaband shit) sux... but also that is just my very personal opinion and if someone wants to go after it i would encourage him anyday.

Eskimo is a great producer and he imprinted the scene with his style a few years ago... many of us did dance to his tunes and got inspired by great tracks of him.

Please do go on and make really energetic and powerfull buildups then silence, vocal sample or fx, retrigger that kick and just leave everyone hanging in there expecting the beat to come... i just fucking love to be teased.

It doesn't mater if everyone does it... do it your very personal way and enjoy it.

geez!

of course it is a matter of taste but to me the video gutter posted or the producer of it have dozen times more skills than eskimo.Never liked his music, totaly boring for me.
And I dont see there really anything special - would be nice maybe for a soundtrack to telletubys .Just my opinion.I agree completely and trust more in your synapses than anything other is the best way of all.
I like more some of them underground masters when it comes to technical skills and psytrance creation for sure.

Yeah, and I was the one playing it once on a party in Hawaii and fooling everyone, acting with it and all, was funny and everyone cracked up about it...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:
