Hi
Im looking for a vst plugin which i can use
to fade out my samples with and make them shorter with .
Right know i use soundforge to fade out the kick and other instruments with and it works
good. But i find it very timeconsuming so a
vst plugin would be great for this.
Maybe you think i should use a gate effect for this purpouse but i would like to use an easier vst.
Please help me regards Conny

if u use fl its quite easy-open a sample, press on its name and a the sampler appears,on the bottom u have the sample's wave and exactly above some controls(in,out,...).turn the"out"until the desired fading is completed.
if u use cubase or other seq i dont know what else to do except soundfprge, cooledit etc and would like to know if theres something too!

most sequencers has fade in and fade out...
you can do online fade In/out and you can also do offline.... in most of the market leading sequencers...

though soundforge/Adobe Audition/Wave Lab and such is very great audio editors and offers very precise edits...they are good for many purposes.

Conny why would you want to waste recourses on using a VST plug dedicated for fading out samples..
it sounds a bit dumb to me.....
when you can do it very simple in most sequencers... i dont even know if such Vst exists.

wouldnt it be best to tell us which host/sequencer you work with?

anyway diskOtek told you a simple way in FL
in cubase you just doubble click the sample you work on, now you are in the cubase audio editor, rightclick or ctrl right click and choose process and fade out...

An advantage using FL is that the operation is revversible, and that you can control the curves making it algorythmical rather than "straight"...

every sequencer can put envelopes on the audio, you don't need a plugin. In fruity you have 4 envelopes (1 for filter cutoff, one for pitch, one for amplitude, and another one ), in cubase you have the blue line around the sample you imported, it has 3 points that you can drag. Drag the last point further towards the start of the sample and you are making a fade out...

Kontakt, Battery and other samplers have envelope you can fade out using them. if you don't use samplers you can use your sequencer, every sequencer supports this. try right clicking the sample and explore that menu

Thanx for all of your replys.
I use fruityloops as my sequenser.
Let me explain my problem,
When i make my "layered "snares for example
i first fokus on the sounddesign how the snare sounds and afterwards fix the length of the sample here is when my problem occours
,when i use the fade out option in the sampler channel the whole sample sound itself changes when i use fade out, this doesn´t happen when i use fade outs in soundforge.
My problem is that the whole sample changes when i use fade out in flp, it sounds much better when it´s done in soundforge

Best regards Conny

Do it in soundforge Conny, you shouldnt wast cpu for a simple 1 second work that you can do in Soundforge\Wavelab\etc

another thing is you can try writing a volume envelope in the sampler.

why dont you open your file in a audio clip and insert volume envelope automation in the playlist!
this should work like your work in soundforge and you could also change it afterwards!
