i am happy to say that our cd is out on the excellnet label neo ouija.
if what u ask is complex beat programing and manipulating. heavy textures, and sad subtle meldies than this is your release.
******************
Tel Aviv is a strange place to be making music. Surrounded, on the one hand,by the rich traditions of the middle east and its African heritage and, onthe other, absorbing the huge cultural significance of the Ashkenazi communities from the Diaspora all over Eastern europe, one faces a huge musical melting pot. Even before you begin to pay any attention to the other-wordly mayhem of political conflict, complex bloodlines and the unbearable heat that takes over for a good 9 months a year.Yair Etziony and Rani Golan are two such individuals making music in this city, although they shun the influence of their immediate surroundings in favour of a more disconnected, unusual approach to Mediterranean music making.Naming their project "Faction" to highlight their musicalalienation from the mainstream of their immediate environment, "The End Of Tel Aviv" is a record that explores the unusual complexities of growing up and living in a city that is at one and the same time brilliantly modern and painfully attached to its past.

"The End Of Tel Aviv"

Yair and Rani met in 1999 and discovered they both shared a love and passion for the electronic music that was slowly making its way across europe. They started to experiment with computers, wires and broken software, but it wasn't until Lee Norris (aka Metamatics) played some shows in their city that the pair were given the opportunity to write some music for a commercial release. Impressed with what he had seen in their company, Norris asked Faction to get to work on remixing one of his tracks under the Norken guise -- the results would later on make it to the critically acclaimed remix package on Hydrogen Dukebox. From that time on Faction have been hard at work developing the music they love, that which is still largely unavailable in their home town,- soft "glitchy" electronic music.

Citing the work of Brian Eno, Biosphere , 4AD, Boards of Canada , Autechre, Ulrich Schnauss, My Bloody Valentine, Anthony "Shake" Shakir, Komet and Alva Noto as being of major influence, Faction somehow try to trace the musical path between the heavy digital sounds of labels like Raster-Noton and the warm blurry feel of 4AD. "The End Of Tel Aviv", their debut album, is about the twilight of an era, a trip through a very personal image of Tel Aviv, from its neon offices, to the old disintegrating Bauhaus buildings and from there to the border of Tel Aviv and Jaffa. Where east and west meet.

Like Tel Aviv this album is full of the salty flavor of the sea. if u listen quietly u can hear the sound of splashing waves. Where Tel Aviv ends.....the sea begins.

A pleasure to see israeli artists creating such sounds...           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

I started listening to the show a bit late (and not for too long, I was forced out of my house and into a pub), but I was VERY impressed from what I heard there... You have at least one customer for the album.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222
