A*S*T*R*O*F*U*N*K is Loopus in Fabula's second featured release, (the first was released by the Australian label, Demon Tea Records (2002)), and is the debut release of their newly formed label Fabula Records. This excellent established Italian group, known for its fresh, unique & innovative chunky, groovy & funky edge, have produced here 9 massive previously unreleased tracks, shivering with delight. As the title & art work hint, this album is full of character, deep, fat, dark, juicy, percussive & most of all FUNKY as HELL!!!
Managing to pull in all sorts of soundscapes all colorful, twisted & totally psychedelic holding a kind of a retro disco futuristic scent. This is powerful music aimed directly to ones head and body resulting in extensive dance floatation.
This has got to be one of the most cherished & rewarding releases this year.
An excellent magical production by an excellent crew, alive, fresh, intelligent and different.

this album is quite special...well actually in my opinion all loopus production are special but this reach in the goal of combining a dance groove, funky vibe and psychedelic suggestions all originally blended into the the psytrance style...
the first 4 track have more a morning vibe while the other are more dark...track 5 papoola is more minimal groovy but still with a bunch of loopus original style, the last track funkytown 2003 is a kind of remix of the infamous disco track and it's absolutely amazing!!
sometimes loopus music is labelled as finnish music sometimes psychedelic progressive...well i understand that some people really need to put every thing in folders, label, styles , genres..but... take it as it is guys: loopus in fabula have created their unique original style which really doesn't fall into any other categories in trance!
it is not really full-on, it's powerful music and psychedelic but it's not hammering like the normal full-on...and it's not progressive..it's very groovy sometimes but never minimal...
finally i will add that compared to their first album this flows a little better and the sound production is more "digital" and powerful, better quality overall...also i think this will appeal more even to the people who generally are quite skeptics to everything that is not in the classic trance scheme...
overall one of the best album this year, really to check out if you are interested in music...

yeah its not as freaky as thier last album, this one is more refined, groovy as hell.
girls like it on the dancefloor, and thats nice.
funkytown ahaha
the cover reminds me of daft punk...
its psychedelic, but subtle, funky and intelligent,
not all trance has to sound the same
the loopus track on CANDY (candyflip) is really good,
i havent got a favorite on astrofunk yet.
bom to your mom
thanks for the stickers loopus.

seriously this stuff is "shakedelic"..!!
the more i listen to this album the more i like it and got surprised...
loopus in fabula it's not the kind of music that "burns" the interest in a few listenings...
it's nice to know some people in the scene are working on different alternative sound and with so excellent results ..because a part from words this stuff really storms the danceflooor...!!!
keep the good vibe guys!!
by the way i heard somewhere that the album is sold out already but actually i don't know how many copies were printed...
