the interface is great when using it i use usually just the normal mode , no natural phase mode, no linear phase mod.

Natural phase mode probably add oversampling so the phase stay coherent in the highs..maybe test depending sounds what sound best but it wont necessary be better as oversampling can do more harm than good

there is quiet a big talk here about these 3 "phase modes"
i would love to have some real feedbacks on how they work ....

since few years i use FF-EQ in linear-phase-medium .... and it seem to work well, i am happy with it ...

but ??

it can work well bu take much more cpu , quality is not better it depends the sounds and result after, best would be you compare depending the sound .
linear phase will change/alter the attack of sounds more than normal mode, more noticeable on percussive stuff , i think the more you use narrow band and steep filter the worst it get

for me i rarely bother with linear phase cause of the latency and cpu but it can sound good too , the strenght to me is that the sound can stay tighter when suited as phase/timings are not affected, but the transients smearing can be weird .

what ever work soemtimes it s better to have transients smearing than phase shift/distortion of non linear eq , a lot use linear phase to cut the low end even if theorically it s not recomended , but the phase shift of tradiotonal eq can be less transparent than some pre ringing / transient smearing of linear phase .

it depends if you want to preserve tightness ,or preserve more the transients/attack of sounds ... so i would say try the modes and use what best to you depending the sound . usually normal mode is the most comon used i think, as it dont mess as much the transients and lower cpu

Great plugin. Just love it, great for when my stock EQ doesn't do the job. The whole 96dB/Oct is good for serious sound design/sampling. I can imagine this being a great mastering EQ. Particularly cause of the phase correction & mid/side stuff. Though I never really use those features on an eq.            E-KLIPSE Trance Productions

i never had problems with latency or CPU with FF-EQ 1 , i found this EQ very light in CPU usage , i can open 1 per channel without any CPU overload ...

so, linear phasing affect transient, actually now that you say that i see how it affect my sounds ... but is not an issue for me , i mostly compose slow bpm music with slow attacks ....
but i wills study more this thing with transient and liner phasing EQs >>

thank you !

yeah it dont really mean it s bad on the transients, many artifactss are whatpeople like in some old gears so what ever sound good... but for narow boost/cut it s usually not recomended , or when you want to preserve the transients, it also depends the setting used, check the different mods
