Koxbox live in a forest in 1999 in Japan (with Ian Ion) still rates as music that was extra terrestrial. Mind bending.

The Koxbox track is in sync with what I'm talking about. Imagine listening to that track in 1997, it would have been very hard to deconstruct it at the time. You simply cannot do justice to a piece of work like that only by saying "great production, great technical creativity", it seems to embody something indescribable.

Any suggestions for sound produced today that embodies the same mystery ?

howabout just merging this with "the classics" thread?

tamlin: fjaqek

one of the few tracks of the 2000's i could describe with the following terms: "alien" "impressive" "what psy-trance should sound like"           "no one ever sweats on a plug-in" -moby

With all the oldschool recommendations looks like it might just fit with the classics but still hoping someone posts something made in the last year or two.

Nice track. Whole Schizm compilation was quite out of space like that. Alrune especially.

Ektoplazm's done a small writeup on this track. Thanks Outolintu, this is a piece of history right here.

the album "trippy future garden" which contains "ant invasion" was released in 1996 by polytox records. one of my favourite albums of that time as it's very hypnotic. all tracks take their time and build up nice and slowly. it also contains the epic 22min "trippy future garden".
wow, that piece of info on the ektoplazm site makes this track even more special. thanks for pointing it out for me!
