If you work with cubase goto:
Files -> import -> audio from movie
Works perfect.

I just use wires and my soundcard's interface to record anything I listen from my Mac, in Logic in real time.
No additional software needed and get the job done in no time.

I have been searching for good PC software for this for a long time, and only recently found something that is really fast and easy, its called Total Recorder.
Where I used to drop .avi and other movie files into converters or extractors, or go to websites to plug in youtube addresses to generate mp3s, now all I do is hit record on this, play the source material...save and voila!
basically, it records anything that you hear on your computer. Saves a lot of time and is only a couple more clicks than the method mentioned above by Disco Hooligans if you are unfortunate enough to not have a soundcard capable of what he described.

use balanced jacks to connect stereo out 1/2 to 7/8, then set an audio track in logic that records inputs 7/8. no monitoring to avoid feedback, press record on logic and play whatever source I'm recording from (DVD, youtube...etc).

but then is uncomfortable imo , because as long as you usually use stereo out 1/2 as main output you cannot listen o the soundsource anymore..
sure there are ways to get it working nice but thats too complicated imo..even a whole step of converting inbetween, wich is not really an issue with good hardware but still a loss..
i think its more comfortable with such a little software..but its personal choice..
cheers
