Hi all

used the search & couldn't find anything

I want something of reasonable quality. 2 outs, maybe 4. Need the quality to be at least 24 / 96, maybe higher. Ideally would like a pre-amp to record vinyl

whatcha got?           new Hadal Drop album on the way

I have both Indigo Dj and Motu Ultralite
http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/ultralite/

and i am very sutisfied with both of the even tho they clearly are at 2 different levels.

The Ultralite is reasonable priced, have very high specs, and suit on-field recording, playing live,or studio.

Id personally stay away from USB soundcard.

the Ultralite's a bit bigger & better than what I'm looking for. How's the Indigo DJ sound?

the Firebox looks fantastic! Anybody got one of these? Anybody DJ through one?

Yeah i used the firebox its quite decent for the price..The only negative thing about it is that the preamps could do with a little more headroom but other than that its a solid little interface..           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

some really bad reviews of that M-Audio FireWire 410, but so did the Presonus Firebox on that website, just not as bad

many of them are from acoustic music artists though

anyone on here got one? 4 stereo outs is pretty great!

that Native Instruments box is good, but the headphones out can only be asigned to either one of the 2 stereo outs. I play a lot of techno, so chances are I'm gonna have 2 channels playing at a time & will wanna be cueing a 3rd channel. After looking more closely at the Indigo DJ it appears to have the same problem

it's out of the Presonus Firebox & the M-Audio FireWire 410 at the moment...           new Hadal Drop album on the way

Cubasing is like Freebasing, just with audio.
Both cost more than you can afford, and leaves you sitting in a dark room with no life, craving for more.

Maybe you're refering to the simpler phase 24
version, the USB one without the X

Terratec phase x24 has 2 stereo outputs. I've used it with laptop sendind each one to a separate hardware mixer channel. Works without problems.
cheers!            Peace, Love, Death metal

hmmm.. it looks OK but I prefer the Firebox, just cause it's got a coupla extra outs

what I'd really like, though, is an Edirol FA-66, but with another stereo output, because I'd like to have 2 channels running in the mix at all times (one with bass & one without), so I kinda need a 3rd channel to cue up new layers. Alternatively, I need a headphone jack on the soundcard that is separately assignable, so I can listen to something other than the inputs & outputs on it

the other plus about that Edirol box is that it has RCA in with a ground, as well as an analog limiter!! This is ideal for vinyl recording. I guess what I'm really looking for is a cross between the Firebox & the FA-66. Unfortunately I checked the Roland website & the FA-66 doesn't have a "big brother" i.e. something exactly the same but with a couple more outputs          new Hadal Drop album on the way

Yeah Echo also makes very good soundcards only reason they're not so popular is coz they don't market themselves as much as other companies do..

Found a review of the Konnekt 8 in case anyone's interested:

The echo Indigo DJ cards have been available for a while, so it should be possible to get them secondhand. I think they are very practical for DJ's and travellers, no extra cables, powersupply's or anything, just plug it into your PCMCIA slot and you are ready.
