Hi there. i've been using the ableton sidechain for a while, but instead i decided to try fabfilter Pro-c. How do i make the external sidechain if i want to sidechain bass & kick?

Put a sidechain version of Pro-C (with '(SC)' after its name) on the track you want to compress. For the sake of this example we'll call this track 'Track A'. Press 'Expert' and select the 'Ext' option for sidechain source.
There are two ways of sending a trigger signal to the sidechain input of the compressor on Track A.
1) Trigger Track
Create a separate audio track for the sidechain trigger, let's call it 'Track B'. Track B will never be heard directly. The 'Audio To' selectors of this track need to be set to 'Track A'/'Stereo Side Chain-FabFilter Pro-C (SC)' - this will route all audio output from Track B into the sidechain input of the Pro-C on Track A.
2) Trigger Send
Create a new Return track and route its output to the sidechain input on Track A as in the example above. Now you can send from any track (or combination of tracks) to the sidechain input.
Once you have your signal routed, set up the time constants and gain parameters of the Pro-C on Track A to get the effect you want.
